If Juhi's cat had been lost, Ming's situation was altogether very different. Instead of looking for a lost item, he was looking for someone who would look for him. Because, as much as he hated to admit it, Tze-Ming Lin was lost.

And a little scared.

Walking towards the corner from the darkened corridor which he had been exploring for the past 10 minutes, hoping to find a way out, he heard a female voice. Uh-oh, it was past curfew, wasn't it? But it wasn't his fault!

Oh well, it didn't matter if he was to be sent for detention. Picking up pace, he jogged slowly towards the corner in front of him, stopping on his side before peeking at the other person whose voice he had just heard. "Hello?" he called out hesitantly, hoping to not scare the girl.

Oh, this was just great. Juhi had no idea which direction Bean had run off in. She was partially tempted to leave him and get to bed. He was a cat, after all, and they were SUPPOSED to be nocturnal; but he was also a kitten, and she couldn't convince herself that he would be fine. Perhaps when he was larger, then she would trust him to take care of himself.

At least he was fast, apparently.

Juhi froze when she saw a head peek around the corner, panic flooding briefly through her body for the split second before she realised the head was not tall enough to be an adult. "Hello," she whispered back, inching carefully a few inches closer, her hand moving slowly toward her wand. Couldn't be too careful, after all.

Then she recognized the head. "Ming!" Juhi's whisper was as full of relief as a whisper could be. "What are you doing out here? Don't you know it's after curfew? Hey, have you seen a kitten?"

Was that.. Juhi? Indeed it was! But no, that might not be such a good thing, right? Since, well, she WAS a prefect and all. But she was a Ravenclaw, and Ravenclaws were supposed to be reasonable, right, right?

Well, he hoped so.

"Er, hi, Juhi. I'm... lost?" he said, the words coming out as a squeak as he didn't think he should be speaking too loudly, lest someone else came rushing out. "And no, I haven't seen one. Did you lose one? How does it look like?"

Juhi gave Ming a sympathetic look. "Oh, lost. Well, you almost made it back okay." She waved her hand down the corridor she'd just turned from. "The common room is right down there." She hesitated. She'd no desire to get Ming in trouble; he had been lost and was a first year, after all, and it was only five minutes or so past curfew. She wouldn't have mentioned it at all, except, well ( ... )
