Erik Cohen was feeling very Erik Cohen-y on this day. So much so that his way of fighting off boredom was to run up and down the staircases, even as they moved. It was thrilling the first two or three times, of course, when he nearly bashed his head against the rail and nearly twisted his ankle, but then he got used to the feeling and the excitement died down.

He gave a nod of his head in farewell to the staircases as he hopped onto whatever floor was nearest in order to explore. In Erik Cohen's case, meaning find someone to bother with amazingly unwitty, yet dramatic stories. Erik, however, did not make it very far before his plans changed.

Was that a girl... screaming? Visions of Wes seemed to flash in his mind as his hand immediately connected with his wand, and then he took off running. He slid to a halt as the sound seemed to meet his location and his eyes found their way to an open classroom door.

And it was indeed a girl. Being attacked... by NONE OTHER THAN.... COCKROACHES! Although this wasn't exactly what Erik had been ( ... )

They were coming up! They were going to attack her! Still screaming (it was rather amazing how long she could hold it), she backed up a bit further on the desk, nearly falling over ( ... )

Erik, feeling the air come rushing back into his lungs, was determined to make sure the girl was okay. Obviously, cockroaches were not exactly violent magical beasts, but for some reason... the way she had screamed made Erik think that they'd been out to get the poor thing. Or perhaps it was just that he knew that they were revolting and having them circle you like that could cause nightmares. He'd take her to the Hospital Wing if she wanted.

Only, he didn't exactly get a chance to ask her, as she had soon tackled him, knocking the wind out of him once more. He coughed as she cried out her thanks and moved a bit so that he could see past her hair. He'd saved her? Well, if she wanted to put it in those terms, he'd accept it. Possibly ( ... )

She let go of him as he pulled backwards and mumbled something-or-other, and wondered why he was staring. Did she have another cockroach on her or something?! Jeannie shifted, a bit uncomfortable.

Truth was, Jeannie had thought they were out to get her. An overactive imagination and a tremendous fear of anything creepy-crawly had ensured to that. If they had gotten to her, she believed... well, she didn't know what they would've done, but it probably would've been something like EATING her!

...So yes, she was of the opinion that Erik had saved her.

Jeannie thought about it for a moment. Well, he did have a point. She couldn't have known, and it wasn't really her fault that she was curious, more like her parents'.

She nodded. Erik Cohen now had a devoted follower. A Slytherin devoted follower, but one nonetheless. Though Erik may not have known it, she took his promise to heart - and not just for the cockroaches, also. Of course, she didn't know that Erik wasn't too popular with the Slytherins, and that shouting out for 'ERIK ( ... )
