Hargreaves had been waiting for this all year, the first practice of the Slytherin Quidditch team. After everything going the way it had, Quidditch proved a good distraction and method for letting out his frustrations. He may have been useless on land, but up in air he felt unstoppable and powerful.

It was sunny and cold on the early Saturday morning as he strolled out to the green in his practice clothes, holding his broom casually across one shoulder. Wes was already waiting for them. A grin broke out across Hargreaves' narrow face, already feeling that sense of confidence and pride. Now THIS was a way to impress Wes, if his efforts had failed elsewhere. And, to make things better, he was the first one here. Well, he was dedicated, that was for sure.

His insides jumping around and already feeling the adrenaline shooting through his veins, like he was about to go to battle or the like, he stood at attention facing Wes. "Morning, Broderick," he said.

Quidditch practice?! NeverMIND it was at an hour that had been hitherto unknown to Ophelia, neverMIND it was near freezing, neverMIND she was the newest player. For she got to hit things with sticks... and people WANTED her to.

She came gamboling down the pitch, only nearly stopping right before Wes and Hargreaves, panting with excitement. She had been holding her broom above her head like some sort of sacrificial lamb, ready to be thrown to the fiery pit in the name of Quidditch. Reaching the two others, she lowered it and beamed at both of them.

"Hallo Wesley, Moooorning HargyDearBoy," she intoned, jumbling the last few words into one large one and adding to it a friendly slap on the back. Which was rather ridiculous looking given her size and her nicely pinned back little curls.

So Jonathan was not exactly thrilled at how early this Quidditch practice was. 8am, seriously? It's not like they were ever going to play any games this early, right, so it seemed pretty ridiculous that they had to be awake for practice so early. But he didn't complain out loud -- that would probably be a bad move in front of their captain.

Who might just be trying to kill them all by making them wake up so frickin' early, but that was clearly beside the point. Or maybe it actually was the point, since Jonathan's brain was lingering on it for so long. Whatever.

Still, he wasn't late, and that, he felt, should be the actual point. Whatever he felt about this early morning nonsense, he was there -- and not even the last one, either, which was really something to boast about, he felt sure. Of course, he could find a way to boast about himself in nearly any situation, so that wasn't too unusual, then ( ... )

Iago had never feared that Wes wouldn't keep them on their toes. Who cared that the bloody Gryffindor's had been practising for awhile now. It didn't matter. All the practise in the world couldn't make up for the pure skill of the Slytherin team. So, of course, it had came as no surprise to him when Wes had called practise so early in the day. It showed him that they all still had the drive, the discipline, the will to be part of the team.

He'd had no problem getting up for practise. He'd always awoken early in the day, and when quidditch was involved, he could have woken up at five in the morning, had Wesley called for it. He'd gotten dressed, grabbed his broom, and made his way to the pitch.

Iago was surprised to see that half the team was already assembled there. He smiled. That was good. At least those players were ready to play, early or not. He walked over, and nodded to each of his team mates in turn.

"Morning, everyone."
