Emmy had just finished dinner, but she'd been avoiding most of her friends lately. It would only be a matter of time, really, and she was starting to realize that not many would be understanding. She'd sat alone at a far end of the Ravenclaw table, amoung a group of first years who didn't know what was going on. That little Niamh had even given her a smile, which had made Emmy feel just a little less terrible

See, there she was, doing that thing where she was all smiley and whatnot as though nothing at all had happened! What was that thing? It perplexed him greatly.
Of course, when he gave it some serious thought he realised he obviously liked it better that she was happy and didn't really appear to have gone through a horrible ordeal, as that would have only worried him more. And Sean could've taught a course on worrying with all the worrying he'd done while she was gone. And he wasn't even generally a worrier

Emmy grinned at him, then raised her eyebrows, "Clown nose?! Oh, Sean, you have to tell me about that! I imagine there must be a story to it, hmm?" she looked at him, hopefully. That sounded interesting, indeed! She wondered who else was involved and why and how and oh, she did hope he'd share. She batted her eyelashes and beamed up at him as cutely as possible. She'd get the story out of him sooner or later, that she was sure of; she just hoped for sooner rather than later. She could use a happy distraction, honestly.
She winced slightly when he mentioned the paper. She didn't want to hide it from anyone, exactly, but explaining it was lately seeming to get people upset with her. She'd hate to get Sean to the point where he wasn't talking to her. Then again, it was Sean. He couldn't get too upset with her; Nate wouldn't let him. Though, Nate was upset with her himself, but at least he wasn't to the point of arguing with her about it. Her brother had enough sense to just silently disagree and send her his old stuffed badger to

"Ah, well, there's a story t' everything if ye think about it," Sean said with a grin; as far as he was concerned anyway, there was always a story to be told, whether someone was listening or not. "'Tis sorta funny, actually," he began and then realised that - HEY! He was the one asking the questions here! She could bat her eyelashes and look cute all she wanted! He was immune to that right now!
Except he completely wasn't, so he made sure to not look at her directly. He was a complete pushover when his own sisters pulled that thing, and it seemed he was even more of a pushover when it came to Nate's sister. "Well," he said gruffly, as though he had lots of resolve, "yoooou can answer th' questions I've got, an' then I'll answer th' ones yooou've got, aye?"
Never mind that her questions had to do with clown noses and his were a little more severe than that. He felt a little guilty when he saw her wince. She was probably getting sick of talking about it or maybe she was even sick of thinking about it, but well, so was he -- in the
