Wes took his time packing up his materials from Potions and putting them in his bag. There was no hurry, really. Yes, he had quite a few essays due already, but school had always been pretty easy for him, so he wasn't worried. Slinging his bag over his shoulder, he headed out of class with a cordial wave to Professor Snape, and saw the retreating back of Andra, probably heading for the library.

"Andra," he drawled as he stepped quicker to catch up to her, "Heading for the library?"

She'd seemed a bit preoccupied during Potions, which was a bit weird for her. She'd always rivalled him in her knowledge and devotion to the subject, so seeing her a bit off was disconcerting.

"Hmm?" she replied quickly, turning to the familiar voice as she slowed her steps. Once he was by her side, she picked back up to a normal stride. "Oh, yes," she added, grinning a bit sheepishly. Bit of a pity that she was so predictable with her study habits.

She shrugged, looking back to the path as she slowed again slightly. There was no need in denying a bit of socializing with one of the only people she really liked to chat with; Wes had a nice balance in him -- a bit sarcastic, a bit serious. Add in their love of Potions and he was quite a companion.

"I'm a bit frazzled, worried about how different this year'll be, you know?" she continued, fiddling with the strap of her bag nervously. "NEWT preparation is one thing, but do you think they'll push us too hard before spring is even close?"

She had a feeling that was the case; only three days in and she was already swamped with work.

His strides were easy and completely in sync with her own as he walked beside her. It was honestly too bad that she didn't share his complete mindset, because otherwise he would probably consider her to be a good friend, as opposed to a good acquaintence.

Of course, he'd been trying to.. influence her.. for years now, and he had a feeling that he might have been just a bit closer than before. One never knew, after all.

"They'll certainly try," he replied, his hands stuck comfortably in his pockets as he walked along, "but I doubt it will be any different than the OWL year. They tried to break us then, too, and we're still here."

There was this little problem with Wes' NEWTs, and that was the fact that he didn't care what he got on them. He already had his entire future planned, and his future didn't include whatever scores he received. So he didn't quite see eye-to-eye with Andra's problems.

"Hmm, true," she replied, nodding slowly. Their OWL year seemed to have started out on the same foot -- loads of work, which had turned out to be a sort of test to see if they could handle the load they received later in the year. "Maybe it'll lighten up in a few weeks," she mused, smiling hopefully.

She shrugged, then batted her hand in the air. She wouldn't worry about it right now. She'd just do the work she'd been assigned and not worry about the work that did not yet exist!

Made sense, didn't it?

"What about you? You don't look too terribly stressed," she grinned, nudging him lightly with her shoulder as they walked. But then again, she thought, Wes has always had a manner of looking relaxed.
