Had Jory even attempted to send Jackie an owl to cancel, she'd likely not have gotten it, since his owl was absolutely rubbish at being at all owl-like. Of course, he had done no such thing because he had been so looking forward to flying with Jackie again, he'd likely have still come out in a blizzard.
This was no blizzard, but it certainly wasn't a bright sunny day. It was the type of day his mother referred to as 'miserable'; off and on rain with enough moisture and constant drizzling to make sure that nothing really stayed dry. Still, it could be worse.
Once he spotted Jackie (and her broom), he picked up the pace a little, jogging to meet her by the goal posts. "Hey," he said breathlessly as he approached. "Nice day for flying, yeah?" He smiled faintly, pushing his own damp fringe off of his forehead.
A blizzard? Good to hear... since December was soon approaching, and that wouldn't be too far-fetched an idea. That is, if he still wanted to fly with her in December and she hadn't scared him off by then.
"Hey!" Jackie grinned watching Jory stop shortly in front of her. She chuckled a little at the 'day' and nodded. "Sure, we could always use muggy weather." She winked.
"Are you ready?" Jackie reached inside her robes for an object and held it in front of Jory between her thumb and forefinger. It was a Snitch, and she handed it to him. "I thought we could try seeking... for a little while. And then, if you want Lantern to pull Aeron out, we could try that too. Of course, if you have any other ideas, I'm game." She smiled. "Gotta take advantage of the weather!" Another wink.
Jory took the Snitch from her, smiling as he turned it over in his hand. "All right, cool," he agreed. This would certainly be interesting. When watching Quidditch, he usually had trouble seeing the Snitch at all, even when the Seeker was chasing right after it. He wondered if it was different when you were actually on a broom and meant to be looking for it.
"Sounds good to me," he said good-naturedly. "Good luck on Lantern getting my bloody bird out anywhere, though," he quipped, shaking his head at the thought of his useless bird. Still, it sounded like a brilliant idea.
He held the Snitch up, curving his fingers around it as he glanced at her. "Should I let it go?"
"Sure!" Jackie nodded as she mounted her broom. She gestured for Jory to climb on behind her. "Unless you'd rather release it while we're in the air, so you can try to watch its movements? Completely up to you."
As soon as he got on, she took off for the center of the field. It would be easier to search from the center and naturally, at a higher altitude. The splattering of gray clouds and peeking rays of sunlight kept the atmosphere somewhat gentle, and she glanced over her shoulder at him. "Okay, back there?"
