Week Name/Date/Time: 'The Minister is Elected' / Tuesday, November 8th, 2005/ 12:19pm Location: Great Hall Open to: Alannah Currently Involving: Matt ( Someone's watching you... )
Al's eyes followed him. Something about that boy was enchanting. "Hi, Matt!" Al greeted him warmly with an ear to ear smile.
She looked at Matt's plate full of food. "Uh, quite hungry, ay?" Al looked at him. Al looked down at her plate of food and took tiny bites here and there. While sipping on the water she had. Alannah likes one other boy, but he probably doesn't like her. After all, Sean Brightwell is a 7th year Hufflepuff. He probably doesn't even like 5th year girls.
Alannah watched Matt inhale the plate of food in front of him. Some reason why, Al always thought the way a guy eats was cute.
After shoving a peice of his sandwhich into his mouth, and almost swallowing it whole, Matt said, "Hello, Alannah," and smiled slightly.
She truly was beautiful. The longer Matt was with her, and the more he looked at her, the more he realized she was perfect in every way. But that one person kept flashing in his mind: Avis. Avis forgot about you, so just keep it on the friends only line with her, Matt thought to himself.
"Um -- yeah -- one could say that." Grabbing his third sandwhich and stuffing it into his mouth, Matt started pouring himself some pumpkin juice. "If you don't mind me asking, why were you watching me before?"
One possibility came to his mind. That couldn't be true though. Alannah liking Matt? Not very likely, but it was the only plausible situation, unless there was something on him like a "Kick me" sign that he didn't know of. Waiting for her reply, Matt just drank the goblet of juice, and wiped his mouth as he finished half the glass.
Should I tell him I've got the hots for him? What if he doesn't like me....what if I make a fool of myself. Thoughts raced through Al's mind. Al could feel herself blushing and her cheeks getting red as she thought of an excuse to say why she was watching him before. No excuses! Come on...there had to be an excuse.
"I just haven't seen you in a while. I was trying to see if that was you, I didn't want to make myself look like a fool calling out your name if it wasn't you." Al chuckled trying to make it sound casual. She looked around at the other people at her table.
Real good excuse Al...real good excuse. Al thought as she rolled her eyes to herself.
"so....how's your day so far?" Al said taking a bite from her plate.
Ok, that was the lamest excuse Matt had ever heard. Not to mention the fact that she was lying. "Al, are you out of your right mind? We just had Transfiguration together! How would you not know if it was me? Now come on, stop lying."
"Other than the fact that you're completely lying to me, pretty busy. I have 3 classes, especially hard ones, and then to top it off, Quidditch practice. Dustin must be out of his bloody mind too, to be scheduling a practice today, with the weather as it is. How about you?"
Oddly enough, Matt was still hungry. Therefore, he continued to grab another sandwhich, this time from the Ravenclaw table. For some reason it tasted different; maybe different bread over there or something.
Al could punch herself in the head right now. That was a horrible excuse! Al thought, grinding her teeth together.
"Hahahahahahahahaha! I was just kidding! That wasn't the real reason why I had been watching..." Al tried to play it off but her fake laugh sounded like a cackle and now her face was beet red. Not to mention that people were starting to listen in on their conversation around her. "I uh, was watching you because I-I-I...don't know, ok? I just don't know. I was just staring...I guess I'm the only one that stares whenever she is thinking. I have that problem. I just stare at people when I'm really thinking deeply about things." Frowning she tried to cover her face from looking like an idiot...well, MORE of an idiot.
The only thing that Alannah could do was fill her mouth with food and water so she wouldn't have to answer another one of Matt's questions. That would reveal that she secretly has the hots for him!
"Al, what's going on with you? This isn't like you to be lying like this. You never were a compulsive lier, so why now?" Maybe Matt had come to the right conclusion, but he could never say what he thought. That would just be an invasion of her privacy and thoughts.
"Oh -- well if that's the truth, than what were you thinking about -- that is, if you don't mind me asking?" Matt watched Al start covering her face and then filling her face with food. Matt reached over and pulled her hand away from her face and just lloked at her beautiful face. She needn't cover her face, she was too pretty to do so.
What seemed like an eternity was only a couple of seconds. Matt and Al just sat there, holding hands for a couple of seconds. The silence broke when someone whistled, Al pulled her hand away.
Now trying to swallow the enormous amount of food in her mouth, Al almost choked to death. After a couple of sips from her glass Al spoke; "Nothing has been going on...I'm just a little jitter-y today. Thats all." Al broke down and actually said something that was truthful to Matt today. "Actually, yes...I need to talk to you."
As Alannah tore her hand away from Matt's hand he snapped out of his trance, and straightened himself out.
Those were the few words that he was a little afraid to hear come from her. What does that mean?, Matt thought as he slowly rose to his full height. "Well, where would you like to go? We could go outside if you'd like?"
Al looked around. "Maybe we could go out by the lake?" Standing up, Al pushed away her plate of food and took one last drink from her glass. "Lets go."
She walked out to the Entrance Hall and awaited Matt to come. Al walked along Matt opening the doors to outside. "I uhhh...want to know if you like me?" Al wrinkled her brow and put on a frown. Should I tell him that I like someone else too? Or would that just make everything complicated? There was a silence that was quite eerie. What should I say....what do I do? Al worridly thought of all the bad things that could happen now. Like, he doesn't like me, he walks away, just looks at me and doesn't know what to say...I'm horrible at relation stuff. Al just couldn't take it anymore.
Hesitantly replying to Al, Matt said, “Erm -- that sounds fine.” Making his way to do the door, Matt sighed deeply. He was a little upset that he was correct. Anything do to with love, and Matt shouldn’t be there. He failed miserably at anything even associated with love. This wasn’t going to be good.
Oh great Merlin! She was asking if he liked her? Now what was he supposed to say? ‘Yes, Alannah, I’m completely knutters over Avis too!’ No, that he couldn’t say that. But then again he didn’t know what to say at this moment, and what ever came to mind was going to spill out of his mouth, whether Al, or him for that matter, liked it or not. “Um - well - I like you, but,” there it was, the part that was going to be horrible, “I’m not completely sure of how, yet. Why do you ask?”
