Week Name / Date / Time: 'Trick or Treat' / Wednesday, November 2nd / 5 p.m. Location: Empty classroom on the 7th Floor Open to: Erik, then after a bit Lauren Currently Involving: Juhi and Erik
Why could he never figure out what bloody time it was!? Juhi had owled him asking to meet up, and he'd obviously agreed, or else he wouldn't have been rushing to Gryffindor Tower like a mad man. Taking what seemed like an hour, but was actually five minutes, to throw off his robes and put on his comfortable muggle clothing, Erik scurried about his dorm. And then? Then he was out of the portrait hole in a flash, rushing to a classroom nearby on the seventh floor.
"Sure you're not a Slytherin? You're looking pretty sneaky to me," Erik said as he entered the room, trying to hide the fact he was out of breath.
Sucking in air and coughing, he held his sides until he was feeling better. Laughing, he approached her and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"How are you?" he asked, knowing it was a simple question, but meaning it sincerely.
Juhi looked up as Erik entered the room. "Oh, I'm sure. Slytherin was not debated even a bit." She looked at him closely. Had he been running or something. Her face took on a concerned expression as he started coughing, and she walked around to the front of the desk, but didn't approach him. He looked as though he needed a bit of space.
When he started laughing she couldn't help but relax by a fraction or two. She gave him a small smile at the kiss, and folded her hand into his. "Oh. I'm okay. Better now, really." Juhi perched on the desk, and gave a big sigh. "I've not been alone all week, seems like. Do you ever forget what your own thoughts sound like? That might not make sense. How are you?"
Erik raised an eyebrow at her as she asked if he forgot what his own thoughts sounded like. Why did she ask to meet him if she needed some alone time? He shook his head at her and sighed. He never really forgot what his own thoughts sounded like, but he did have odd little moments where he would hear his thoughts in Finnish instead of English. Maybe that counted?
"Every once in awhile I'll hear your voice in my head. A couple of times I've thought in Phil's voice. And you know your friend Sebby? One time I heard in his voice too, but that was really odd," Erik informed her and laughed a bit.
"Oh, and I often dream in Finnish. But forget my own thoughts? Not that often," Erik added and gave a pat to her hand. He was here to help, whatever she needed.
"I'm feeling pretty good today. How about yourself?"
Juhi watched in concern as Erik shook his head and sighed. She was in an odd mood, and she was acting it, apparently. She didn't WANT to be alone either, so she wasn't sure why she'd complained about it. Mostly she was tired of being obligated to be around people
( ... )
"I was in the library at the time, actually. I had finished with this book, and I felt a bit lazy and was going to leave it out on one of the tables, and then in my head... Sebby told me to put it back. So I did," Erik said with a shrug.
It wasn't that odd, really. Didn't the boy live in the library now, or something? Sadly, Erik wasn't being given updates. He had NO clue. Though Juhi had said something about snogging in the kitchens a week or two ago, and that was pretty hilarious. And dreaming in Finnish? Didn't sound so strange when she reminded him he was fluent. He smirked at her, but it quickly turned into a frown when she apologized for being odd.
"You aren't... ! Ninju, don't feel like..." Erik tried to talk with her, but he didn't know what to say. He quickly pulled her into a hug, kissing her temple.
"You don't have to be! I'm enough of a Gryffindor for the two of us," he said jokingly, without letting go. She'd always seemed strong to him, and still did.
"Ahhh," Juhi said. "That makes a bit mnore sense then, I guess. Sebby WOULD be the one to hear in your head for such a thing. Honestly." Suddenly she had a thought, and looked up at him, excited. "What kind of things do I say in your head?" OOOOH! Oh, she hoped she didn't look TOO interested; she definitely wanted an answer.
She looked at Erik hopelessly as he struggled to come up with something to say. Just as she was beginning to feel genuinely frustrated with herself, he pulled her into a hug, and kissed her temple. Well, that wasn't a bad start, was it?
She snuggled into him, glad he wasn't letting go. "Oh, I know you are, Skippy. I don't want you to be, though. 'S not fair." She sighed. "I'm not incapable of handling it, really. Just feeling whiny, I suppose." It got her hugs, though. Mmmmmerik.
"All sorts of things, really! One time you told me to finish my homework or I'd be certain to fail Herbology. Another time, you said that if I ate too many Bertie Bott's beans, I'd be sick. You must be part of my concious now or something," Erik informed her with a wink and a laugh.
He shook his head when she said she felt whiny. Well, she was entilted to have that sort of day. Everyone did now and again, and he got a hug out of it. Erik would never say no to a hug from Juhi.
"Well, go ahead and get it all out now! I'm actually listening today!" Erik said jokingly and rubbed her back with his hand.
Juhi shook her head at Erik's wink. "I'm a voice of REASON in your head, it sounds like." She supposed that wasn't too surprising when it came down to it, really. "Even in your head, I'm a bore." She gave him a rueful smile.
She looked at him gratefully when he told her to get it all out. "I know you're listening..." She stopped and laughed. "Wait, what do you mean actually listening? You can't pretend you try to ignore me, Skippy. Now I know you hear my voice in your head." Juhi made a small and rather indistinct noise of satisfaction when he rubbed her back. Hopefully he wasn't planning on letting go of her anytime soon.
Feeling a bit better already, she sighed. Well, if not quite better, she felt more able to broach the subject clearly, without getting too emotional
( ... )
Erik rolled his eyes at that. Juhi was never a bore, but she seemed to think she was. Just because she was a Ravenclaw? Because she liked to read and follow rules (most of the time)? Pbft. No, he mantained that boring - she was not.
He listened to her explanation carefully and nodded his head slightly at some of her words. If there was anyone that could possibly understand what she was going through, it would be him. He'd lost his brother to death eaters, and had Wesley Broderick sending him to the Hospital Wing every couple of weeks. He'd been afraid for awhile now, and while he had Juhi to comfort him, he still felt alone.
"It's not... it's not lying because you don't know! It could get better!" Erik said and looked away from her, a tear running down his cheek
( ... )
"I know it's not lying, but it feels like it, sometimes," Juhi replied. "I'm sorry, Skippy, it's just. I'm scared. And sometimes I'm scared that it WON'T be alright and..." she trailed off, and shuddered. The problem had come from the fact that saying those things without being sure herself had led to her to understand that...the adults didn't know, either. And she was left feeling quite helpless truly frightened
( ... )
The fact that Juhi was apologizing made Erik feel even worse. It wasn't her fault! He was just being stupid, and he hated crying, and here he was. It wasn't even probably he would die. Why did things have to kick in now, all of a sudden?
"No... it's not... urghhhhhh," Erik said with frustration, but laughed at how pathetic he must have seemed as she dried his eyes.
"I love you too. More than anything," Erik replied after he had calmed himself down a bit. They would be fine. He had to believe that!
After she kissed him, he pushed some hair out of her face and stared for a moment, just taking her in. There was no way he'd lose her, and she wouldn't lose him. That settled it.
He kissed her, gently at first and then with a bit more behind it. Just in case things wouldn't be fine. Seize every moment, yeah?
Juhi felt a little reassured when Erik said he loved her. Not so much because she NEEDED to hear it to be reassured, but because it nice that he'd been able to make a complete sentence about something pleasant. This talk hadn't really gone so well, then, had it?
Luckily her desire to discuss the situation in any way with anyone had now totally abandoned her; but she also felt slightly awkward. Mostly because she'd been the one to bring up the subject and she had no idea what to say next.
Erik staring at her made her slightly nervous for a moment. She looked okay, right? Merlin, HE looked...good. Really good. He'd changed clothes and so was more like Erik, and of course there was always the floppy hair. Then there was the fact that he'd been crying, which was somewhat heartbreaking, yes, but now his eyes were bright blue

He'd only let go of her if she asked, naturally.
