Avery couldn't believe it was only 5pm. No dinner yet? Why was she feeling so hungry all of a sudden? She didn't want to go down to the kitchens on her own either, because although she wasn't a scaredy cat, what happened in the beginning of the week shocked her, maybe more than she'd ever let on.
Her stomach made another low rumbling noise, but she continued lying on her bed, staring up at the ceiling. This was frustrating, not to mention maddening, since she didn't know what to do. Her fingers reached out blindly until they touched a pillow near her knee, and then pulled it to cover her face while she groaned into it.
The curtains around her bed were drawn, so she didn't know who had entered the room.
