Study Hall had started about... three seconds ago, and Jeannie huffed and puffed as she hurried into the Great Hall, looking desperately for someone to sit with. She sat down by the first person she saw who she knew, who happened to be Adam.

"Hey, Adam!" Jeannie greeted him happily. "Whatcha doing? Ooh," she said, looking over his shoulder before he even answered, "Astronomy. We don't have that until Friday!" she continued, horrified that he should do homework this early before a class. "Why're you doing it?"

"Because it's going to take me a week to get it to look even a little bit like it's supposed to," he moaned without lifting his head off his arms, making his words muffled. "Look at the state of it."

He knew he was whining, but he couldn't help it. He wanted to do well in the class, but that would never happen if he couldn't even make a simple star chart. "Have you done yours yet?"

"The book usually tells you where all the stars are," she said, shrugging and pushing his book towards him. "I always treat it like a scavenger hunt. Then you just draw a few lines to some stars and you'll get at least an A. And if you use a ruler you should get an EE."

Jeannie didn't mind the whining- after all, she often did it herself. "Naah," she said, laughing. "I'll end up doing it Friday morning, probably. We don't have any other classes then except a Study Hall, anyway."

"The book doesn't make much sense to me either," he said, this time lifting his head up to look at his book. "Do you have to look at it in some special way or something?" He flipped the book so it was upside down.

"You're lucky," Adam sighed. "Being able to leave it till last thing must be nice. Anyway, how come you were late?" He asked, changing the subject.
