Peeking his head down the stairs, Jory noted that Saffron was indeed in the common room, which was good, as he'd been trying to find a few moments with her all day -- to deliver the poorly wrapped gift he now crept back into his room to retrieve. He supposed it was terribly predictable of him to get her a Quidditch-related gift, but he'd seen the special-grip gloves in a catalog and remembered Saffron saying she might need gloves. He'd done a poor job wrapping them, he reckoned, and perhaps used a bit too much spellotape, but oh well ( ... )

Having not been sleeping at all (really she had been wondering why there never seemed to be milk at dinner, and that she hated milk anyway), and when Jory approached, she heard the floor squeak which was followed by someone clearing their throat. Saffron laughed. "Well I know that men shave but..." she trailed off, hoping that her tone was suggestive enough for him to notice her teasing. Though she liked to keep the teasing to a minimum, she couldn't help it with Jory. "I'm a little disappointed, you looked so handsome with a beard long enough to tuck in your pocket." She smiled nervously, thinking that he still looked very handsome just as he was. While she had noticed that he was not the tallest bloke in the world and his lack of facial hair, it wasn't as if either bothered her. Facial hair seem scruffy anyway, especially on teen boys ( ... )
