Feeling completely ridiculous about the fact she'd been so eager to see him, she'd read a novel until a little after 4, and then the pacing commenced. She had no idea what he planned. If he knew her at all, it wouldn't be a party. They'd made jokes about it, of course, but Rylie was extremely uncomfortable in those types of situations ( ... )

He nervously flipped through the book's pages and quickly slid it back into his bag as Rylie entered. She looked... well, different? Nice. Not that she didn't usually look nice but she looked different nice. Sebastian grinned softly at her, then looked back at his cake.
"Er, no actually. I'm afraid nothing, not even the promise of a cake, could compel me to brave the kitchens again. I um, I made it," he grinned hopefully, wondering if she would remember him saying that he never baked, and wishing she wouldn't ( ... )

Had time stopped? It certainly seemed like it. She couldn't stop looking back and forth between the cake and Sebby and grinning and... wow. And he hadn't gone to the kitchens? How had he done all of this!
She could imagine it must have taken a fair amount of time, and he was so very careful about everything that... well, there was just no way this cake wasn't perfect.
She took a step forward, stopped and looked at the cake, and then rushed forward. She threw her arms around his neck in a hug, something she'd never actually done before, and laughed.
"I absolutely adore it! I can't believe you'd do that for me!"
She really couldn't, but she had no

It had never really occured to him not to make a cake. After all, when his family had birthdays, they generally baked cakes. Piles upon piles of them, and honestly, he hadn't known what else to do. Of course, well, he had thought Rylie may like it. And then thought she certainly wouldn't and it had all been very confusing and taken him a good several hours.
He patted her back awkwardly, like he did when a relative hugged him.
"Well, yes. I know how much you like... spice," he replied lamely, attempting to divert the compliment. Pausing, he pulled back to grin nervously into her face, "And Happy Birthday," he added softly, trying very hard ( ... )

But... it was very... him? Him as in ridiculous, because that is clearly what it was. He'd never spent a considerable amount of time with any one person... perhaps repeat exposure of all Sebastian qualities got to people more than it would normally. He was just about to apologize again, when- ohhhh.
Sebastian's brain clicked into place, although he considered it an odd time for it to do so. Bloody inconveniant.
In any case, he managed to kiss her back. It was a little more clear than last time, which somehow made it even nicer. His hand hung awkwardly by his side, so he brought it up to rest on Rylie's waist... really not helping the newfound clarity of the situation.

Of course, it didn't help that Rylie decided to end their... gngh. Snogging. By planting her face in his chest. And what was he supposed to do about that? Not that he was worried about anything hygenic wise. Because, while most people's skin smelt of soap, Sebastian smelt more like a bar of soap that had a faint odour of skin.
Only one thing sprung to his mind, as her head was right there. He reached out a hand and tentatively brushed her hair. It occured to him to be an odd thing to do, so he stopped immediantly and left his hand floating slightly over her hair. Which was... nice. Soft anyway, and... ngh.
"Er... so. Would you rather have the elves then?"
Ohhhh stupid thing to say Seb.

She was giidy, and for that she would normally give a silly answer, but something about the moment was rather serious as well. So, she shook her head slowly from side to side, eyes shining with amusement.
"Ah.... no. Even though I cannot deny that I was ecstatic about... things.... with the house elves there anyway, but I... well, this is much nicer," Rylie answered quietly, moving her hand from behind his neck and resting it on his chest as she pulled back a bit, to ( ... )
