Week 007: Books of Mystery
Sunday, October 16th, 2005 - Saturday, October 22nd, 2005
A REFREHSER!
It's almost a quiet week at Hogwarts. School's in full swing, there isn't much drama going on aside from common House rivalry, pranks, and of course bad news from home for some students, but otherwise? Typical.
That is, until mysterious books show up.
At first, they seem fishy. Odd. A bit terrifying (as everyone remembers the chilling tale of Harry Potter and Tom Riddle's diary!). But, as no harm seems to come to those who slowly begin to explore the books, minds are eased. After all, Dumbledore would never let something like this in again. The old man makes mistakes, but it's safe to say he does learn from them!
There are five books -- one for each House common room, and one in the teachers' lounge that the professors and Aurors have access to. Each book has an attached note, detailing what the book is best suited for. It becomes a game.. The older students dare one another to write, egging each other on with the promise of Bertie Botts and dungbombs (and the mods of this game are bribing you with points!). Soon, everyone feels at ease and wishes to take part in these books.
The books can be found here:
mystery_books Each separate book is outlined in a different post; use that post to submit your characters' entries! Reply to one another's entries, doodle in the margins, have a blast! They're there for fun. .... Or are they?
Be warned that participating in this plot may produce seemingly unpleasant results! Nothing that can't be fixed, of course, but dramarama can definitely ensue! The first submitted entry for a character will be worth five points; each thereafter will be one point a piece. Someone with four characters, who enters six submissions, will therefore earn twenty-two points!
There will be a series of Dumbledore-posted threads that will deal with the events of the books -- some of you received instructions, and some of you will have caused events to occur! The posts will contain the details, and don't be afraid to jump in! The ultimate goal in each thread is to play out what's described -- problem-solving, etc. Have fun with it!
As promised, the rest of the week will be open for gameplay for this OOC week! So you may now only play in...
Thursday, October 20th
Friday, October 21st
Saturday, October 22nd
You don't have to make book-related threads -- continue your gameplay as normal, but know that these events are quite strange and will be well-known throughout the school!!
At this point, the books will be shuffled around, and we'll let you know where they go. They are currently 'in limbo', which means that no one may write in them!
You may continue with threads from the beginning of the week, but do not start any new ones!
