Ozma spied mason from her lurking spot behind Lachlan the Lanky. He was ever so kind to afford her a good vantage point for stalking and whatnot. But that little boy looked particularly dejected today, and for some reason it made Ozma's ribcage ache. Just a little. What, she actually cared about someone else's feelings? Alert the media!

Or better yet, don't, plzthx. Too much Rita Skeeter all over the place as it is.
One day that reporter would take things too far and-- shhhwickk! Throat slitting motions apply.

The ghost girl breezed right through Lachlan's torso and alighted right in front of Mason, pretty much daring him to walk into her. That would wake him up, in any case! She hovered expectantly, hair and skirt hems rippling ethereally in a non-existent breeze.

Mason, of course, was NOT paying attention to where he was going. He was far too busy being emo. So, he did NOT notice Ozma soaring toward him, and walked right through her.

Gasping, he looked around. A cold sensation had just ran through him, and he was looking for the cause. And there it was Ozma.

"Oh, hullo Ozma," he said sulkily.

"What, Lil' Gibbs?" she frowned petulantly. "That's all I get? Not even a scream?" She wiggled her fingers at him. How terribly unfair. Why even make the effort anymore?

"What's got your tie in a knot?" she asked, nosy and rude as usual. "You look like someone just ate your puppy." Suddenly, her eyes lit up, hopeful. "Did someone just eat your puppy?"

Mason glared at her. Oh, he really wasn't in the mood. "Why would I scream? I'm used to you by now." He shrugged.

"And, no, someone did not eat my puppy, sorry to disappoint you." He certainly wasn't going to relate his problems to her. "Now, if you'll 'scuse me, I need to go sulk some more." He actually did, however, want some company, and she was as good as anyone. He hoped she wouldn't leave him alone.
