She had been counting down the minutes until he was sure to visit. And she fully expected it to be a terrible visit, full of blood and gore and really? She didn't mind. He deserved a payback after his little loving show of affection in front of Lucius Malfoy, who Genie fancied quite a bit. It probably wasn't a good idea though, sending notes to the entire female staff stating that she and Chamberlayne had hit some rocky spot in their relationship that caused him to want to go and relieve himself upon other women, and asking that they not subdue to his pressure since doing so would cause her already broken heart to completely crumble. Not the best idea, but oh, was she ever savouring it ( ... )

Ah, there was that blasted, annoying, chipper, happy voice, telling him to come in. His smile widened as he opened the door and stepped inside, looking for all the world like this was the happiest moment of his life.

"Darling! Whyever didn't you tell me that we were having problems?"

Chamberlayne turned, shutting the door behind him before stepping fully into the room, still smiling that extremely faux smile of his. "Merlin, if only I'd known that we were having problems, I would've done something to remedy it." She looked like she was ready to play the same game that he was playing, so it was only a matter of time.

Besides. He'd ruined her chances with that lovely Malfoy. He should have expected some kind of low blow from her.

Genie gasped as she relaxed against the lounger, one leg bending as the other crossed over it, lazily swinging her foot in the air.

"Whatever would give you the idea that we've problems in our relationship?" she asked, playing as absolutely unknowing as she possibly could. "I thought we were fine, love. Steps away from marriage, aren't we?" She smiled that smile, then slowly turned to sit up. Patting the seat beside her, she purred, "Why don't you have a seat next to me, love, and I'll clear those worries of yours up completely. I know the idea of us not being on the best terms must be devistating to you, what with how you worship me and all."

This was her perfect revenge. She had messed up his entire game, and while he had just stopped her from one potential romp, she had possibly killed his chances at any while at Hogwarts whatsoever.

Absolutely perfect.

"Oh, indeed."

Chamberlayne crossed the room and sat down next to her, not minding in the least the fact that she was attempting revenge on him. Oh, no, because she had to assume that he would turn the tables on her. After all, she was a Ravenclaw just as he was.

"So close to marriage that I can hear those wedding bells," he added, leaning back against the seat and resting one arm across the top of it. She might have felt that she'd won, but he knew better.

She'd completely ruined herself in the process of attempting to hurt him. The only way she was getting any now was from him. Kind of funny, actually.

"Really," he added quietly, leaning forward to speak to her, "I don't understand why you would spread such nasty stories. I mean..." Pausing to shake his head and look forlorn, he continued, "...that kiss the other day just proved how on fire we still are."

Smirk.
