I don't know if you guys follow the Billfold (I like it a lot--it's a great site about money/finances aimed at twenty-somethings), but they've been running a cute "How Wizards Do Money" series. I thought I'd share because I was weirdly into the little vignette for Goyle.

I KNOW, right?! I was surprised by how into them I got. Draco's was SO. GOOD.

Also, I looked at Stan Shunpike's. I wasn't expecting much out of him, but my Slytherin Prefect instincts came out a few lines in... I was irrationally angry at his professors - and his prefects - for not noticing the obvious signs of a student's wand fighting against him.

Aren't the Heads of House and prefects supposed to look out for their students? Or are they supposed to ignore 95% of the student body and focus all their attention on their few favorites and least favorites? I had thought one of the ways Snape (who was definitely HoH when Stan was in school) curried so much favor among the Slytherin-parent Death eaters was making sure his students were looked after!

At least he got a happy ending though...
