Character Information Name: Edward Wilhelm Reed LJ Username: herr_edward Age: 34 Birthdate: November 29th, 1972 Location: Hogwarts Former House: Ravenclaw Occupation: Transfiguration Professor
Bloodline: Pureblood Heritage: British/German
Personal History: So, what happens when a recovering werewolf-victim and a crazy madhatter woman love each other very much? Little Edward Reed comes along! Born into an old-fashioned, inheritance-dependent family of Purebloods, Edward grew up learning the ways of being a gentleman. His father Wolfram was still recovering from a werewolf bite, so most of the time it was his mother Catherine doting on him. His parents jumped on the fact that he had no other siblings, and so they spoiled him for many, many years. To them, he was a toy. Just something that they could shape to become the perfect little boy they’d always wanted.
Everything was fine and dandy until Wolfram became very ill. The werewolf bite hadn’t been treated that well, and he fell into a terrible sickness. From that point on, the household became gloomy, and Catherine slowly became what could be called a lunatic. After a few years, Wolfram died a painful death, and Edward became the ‘head of the house’. By then, Catherine had completely lost her mind. Even at the maturing age of 11, she would still dress Edward up and tell him nasty lies. Things like “you’re nothing without your father” or “you’re the reason why he’s dead”.
And so, growing up, Edward began to detest his mother and all of the things she tried to brainwash him into thinking. Upon going to Hogwarts (and being sorted into the jolly house of Ravenclaw) he vowed that he would attempt to help his mother. Naturally, he couldn’t do anything of the sort. The best he could do was the stunt he pulled in his last year at Hogwarts. His sick mother was on her deathbed, and Edward transfigured himself to look like his father, planning on appearing in front of his mother. Upon seeing ‘Wolfram’, Catherine could die a happy death. From then on, Edward devoted his life to learning about Transfiguration.

Personality: Edward is the typical Austen/Bronte-esque hero. He uses a bit of old-fashioned language, and he is extremely proper. His manners are superb, and he can be rather eloquent when he needs to be. Though, he can be reclusive as well, and he also has a nasty temper. He appears to be a big, tough guy, and he comes across that way to most people, but he always feels terrible after shouting at someone or giving a student a bad grade. Also, Edward is TERRIBLE with speaking with women he likes. He tends to clam up and fumble for words. And if he can’t find the right words, he simply blushes and turns away. He hates himself for that. But otherwise, he is calm and stern and extremely professional.
Edward is also a true romantic at heart, though. In both ways. He’s a romantic in that he appreciates nature and enjoying a fine walk in the woods. He’s also a romantic in the sense that he craves a healthy and strong relationship. Edward would also be the first to deliver flowers and chocolate to a woman he loves on Valentine’s Day, or her birthday, for instance. Even if he is awkward about it. -.-
Physical Description: Standing at a tall height of 6'2", Edward is rather intimidating at first glance. His hair is tidy, black, and always done for the occasion. He always dresses nicely, because that’s how he was brought up, and sometimes it might appear that he fell right out of the 1800s. That’s only if he REALLY wants to wear a cravat. Edward’s eyes are calm and sincere, almost a radiating blue, usually scowling in focus when he reads. He also wears reading glasses, but he thinks they make him look much older than he is, so you’ll rarely find him wearing them.
