Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you! It was homecoming week at our school this past week and I've been very busy. I know that's a terrible excuse, but ^_^;;;
Gryffindor: For Gryffindor, of course, the major characteristic is bravery. I'd like to think I am pretty brave, I mean, I'd pretty much do anything to ensure the safety of my family. I know I'm not a coward, but I wouldn't just barrel into any situation. The minor characteristic of Gryffindor would probably be the fact that they stick with what they believe in, even if no one else believes it, which kind of ties in with bravery, but it's kind of separate. This characteristic totally suits me. Except, not to a fault as sometimes Gryffindors are wont to do. I mean, if I believe something and someone proves me wrong (with valid points, of course) I'll pretty much drop it and grudgingly agree, but, stereotypically, it is very hard to break a Gryffindor's opinion.
Ravenclaw: Ravenclaw's stereotypical trait is, of course, brains. They tend to be very bookwormish and know a lot about at least one subject and tend to do very well in school. This totally describes me. I mean, I am obsessed with English, I need to get good grades (otherwise I would probably punish myself, no parent involvement needed xD), and I love reading. A minor characteristic of Ravenclaw would be ambition. I think that Ravenclaw and Slytherin are very closely related in the ambition department. The only difference is that Ravenclaws don't want power, they want knowledge. This trait also suits me. I love learning new things. Of course, I don't take courses out of school to learn, say, Latin or something, even though I'd love to learn Latin. I think that's something a true Ravenclaw would. Not saying every Ravenclaw would.
Slytherin: Of course, the major defining trait of Slytherin is ambition. Slytherins are hungry to make a name for themselves. They'd do anything to get where they want to be, even step on other people. I think this is the trait that is most unlike me. If anything, I'm totally the opposite. I don't think I'd ever use someone to get somewhere. I like helping people, not hurting them. I can't say that I'd never do anything like that, because nothing in life is certain, but I can say that I'm pretty damn sure I wouldn't. A minor characteristic of the Slytherin house is knowledge. Again, the link between Ravenclaw and Slytherin is apparent. Slytherins use their knowledge to be crafty and cunning. They have to be smart in order to trick people into getting their own way. I mean, if you're going to get ahead in life, you at least have to know how to manipulate people, and that takes a brain.
Hufflepuff: Hufflepuff's characteristic is loyalty. They'd stick by their friends and family no matter what. Even if they knew their friend or family member was wrong. But it's not only people they're loyal to. They're loyal to their cause, what they believe in. This trait fits me almost the best of any house. I would die to save my family. The minor characteristic of the Hufflepuff house, as I've mentioned in my previous comment, is that they're typically not judgmental. They're kind to anyone who deserves kindness. They don't pick their friends by how brave or smart or how powerful or how loyal they are. They pick their friends by who they are. The founder, Helga Hufflepuff put it best, "I'll teach the lot, and treat them just the same." As I've stated above, this is probably my favourite of all the house characteristics. This absolutely is what I stand for. I truly believe in equality for all.
