House: Gryffindor
Best Trait: Oh Christ, do I have any of these ... ? I don't know if it's the best trait, or even a good trait, but maybe my favorite thing about myself is that I watch and I think. I've always felt removed from things and it makes it very hard for me to do things sometimes when my head isn't clear, but I can watch them very closely, I can see things, and think things, and feel things that other people won't. I feel like time passes differently for me, that it's longer, or I can see farther somehow. At least sometimes, when I can think more clearly than I usually can.
Worst Trait: I have no social skills whatsoever. Especially I just can't manage the American bright and bubbly form of politeness. I'm a very stoic person who doesn't smile much, laugh much, or mince words, and I have Slavic permafrown eyebrows. The last time I had a job interview, the poor guy giving it stopped and apologized profusely if he had offended me. I felt terrible because I was doing my best to be affable and gracious, and yet ... I can't even do it when there's money in it. Also, I tend to go around with a big fuckoff attitude, I've been homeless, poor, uneducated, and I grew up in Connecticut where there's a huge gaping class divide and I tend to assume that I'm unwanted everywhere I go, because for the most part, I am. So I walk into situations with a middle finger and massive sense of entitlement.
Do you like to have people around you, or are you more of a loner? I don't dislike people, I want to make that clear. I like everybody I meet as long as they're not shit to me. But I never felt any particular need to have them around me. I've gone long stretches of time, months even, without talking to anybody online or in real life at all and I've always been okay with that. I've had very, very few friends in my lifetime. And I need about sixteen hours of alone time a day or else I get all fucked up.
Are you more outgoing or shy? Do you think this would change when you are in your animagus form? I don't talk to other people unless they talk to me, and even then I'm not very chatty. I'm the strong, silent type, I have no social skills, and I'm not interested in small talk. If I talk I want to talk about what you think and feel. I like people, I think they're fascinating, but I like to just sit back and watch them with other people. It's surprising what you can pick up just listening to what they do and what they tell others.
I've had a very few people I've been close to, mostly lovers or *thinks about it* How to translate, like blood brothers... I never liked the part where I talk to them as much. American men tend to be physically cold and hands off, unlike say guys from the Caucasus or the Middle East (or a boyfriend). I always liked being able to have my arm around somebody's shoulders, to play fight with them, to be able to defend them, things like that. I'd do better as an animal because almost all of your communication is physical.
Please give an accurate description of your appearance; pictures are welcome! I have olive skin, dark hair, very long eyelashes, and my eyes are jade green. It's not a good color for eyes since jade is a dull, washed out green, but being able to say "my eyes are jade green" is a little cool. This is everybody's favorite picture of me even though I was really sad and completely strung out when it was taken. That's me in my icon, too.
(I considered posting a picture from Ashura here since I was wearing a lot of kohl and looked handsome, but I'm not sure if the impression I want to make here involves being covered in blood and waving weapons around...I mean, I'm not saying it would be an inaccurate impression...)
What kind of environment would you feel most comfortable in: air, water or earth? I don't know. I never liked the sky much. I feel better when it's overcast and I can't see it. I feel exposed, as if something's going to suddenly swoop down at me. But at the same time, just aesthetically, I like wide-open space, even if I don't feel as comfortable there. I like the steppes and the badlands and the open city. I like water a lot. It's so private, to be underwater, with your own senses and everything that's hidden there. But it's hidden like that in the forests ... or anywhere else, most people don't pay much attention to where they're going. One of the few places I really know well, aside from the woods near where I grew up, is the shoreline here, my grandmother is on welfare but they don't pay her much, so we go down there to pick up sea glass, she makes it into necklaces to sell under the table so she can keep the lights on. We go many times a week so that she doesn't run out, even when the wind is very harsh and there's cold weather. So I understand that place. I think I could deal with any of the elements, so I can't choose.
What's your favourite kind of weather? It should be around sixty or sixty five degrees, sixty five is a little much. The sky should be white and overcast, like a blanket, and a warm rain.
Favourite time of day (or night)? Around midnight. Everyone else in the building is asleep so I have the run of things, but there's a lot of night left before they wake up. (Everyone in my family works first shift at the factory - except me, I'm totally unemployable - so they're up at dawn and that's when I go to bed.)
Are there any traits you think you might like your animagus form to have? They should be good-looking, life's not worth living if you're not beautiful. *laughs*
What capabilities is it important that your animagus form have? To be able to run, to fight. I've never asked for much else out of my body in this life.
Are there any traits or capabilities which you absolutely do not want? I don't want gills or anything so that I could only live underwater.
Are there any animals that you feel drawn to or have a connection with? Wolves and coyotes. My surname means something like wolf or wolf's son. Coyotes I like because they're beautiful things but they're pests, they kind of get everywhere, like I do. You can find them in the forest and the city. I've always felt like I exist in spite of myself in these places, I've carved out a home for myself where I wasn't intended to be.
Are there any animals you are afraid of or strongly dislike? Monkeys. Monkeys have no dignity, and they are failed humans. (Yes, I know we're not literally descended from monkeys, we just share a common ancestor with certain species of ape. Hush.)
Why would you like to be an animagus? I'm not good at being a human. I think of myself as being more like an animal. I think sometimes things happen to you, or you develop in a certain way, and you kind of forfeit that.

Best Trait: I think my best trait is that I'm fun. I'm really adventurous. I love traveling, being outdoors, going out, and trying new things. I'm always down for a little excitement in my life. I think being fun makes me pretty easy to be around especially when you get to know me. I light to light up boring spaces and just have a good time.
Worst Trait: I can be really temperamental. When things bother me I have a really hard time letting them go. I can easily fly off the handle. It's not that I like arguing with people, but if I feel like I have been wronged I just can't seem to help myself.
Do you like to have people around you, or are you more of a loner? I like a good mix of both. I enjoy being around people that I like, but at the same time I really like time by myself. I like spending time with the people I like with the option of going to my home or room and shutting the door to have some time by myself.
Are you more outgoing or shy? Do you think this would change when you are in your animagus form? I am more outgoing. I think this would stay the same in my animagus form. I find that I meet people easily and keep a very social life. I would want that to be as close to the same as possible as an animagus.

What kind of environment would you feel most comfortable in: air, water or earth? I feel a connection with all three so I wouldn't be dissappointed with animals that live in any of those habitats. I'll explain why I feel a stronger connection with two though. I like the air because I would love to fly. I feel like it would be amazing to soar through the sky. I also love flying in airplanes. I love going to the beach and I love swimming so I feel very drawn to water as well. I live by a huge lake and I always said that I would never be able to move far away from water. Whenever I go someplace new the first thing I want to check out is where the water is at. It's always just so beautiful and calming. I cannot resist it.
What's your favourite kind of weather? I love warm weather. I like a lot of sunshine and not a lot of rain. A nice subtle breeze is nice every once in awhile, but I don't like a lot of wind either. Like I said, I like to be outside a lot so nice weather is really important to me. I'm the kind of person who gets bummed out on those gloomy days.
Favourite time of day (or night)? I'm not a morning person. So I would just say the afternoon until sunset. I like nighttime too, but I'd rather it be between noon and sunset. That's my favorite part of the day especially if I am able to be outside during that time and it's nice out.
Are there any traits you think you might like your animagus form to have? I would either like to be smooth or furry. I don't have a size or color preference. Being easy on the eyes as an animal would be nice too. I wouldn't mind people stopping to say oooo look at her.
What capabilities is it important that your animagus form have? I would like to have a lot of energy as an animal whether it be swimming, running or flying. I don't want to be sedentary. I would really like an animal that is very mobile. I would like to be resourceful. It's important to me not to be scared as an animal too so I would like to be able to either outrun or outwit any potential predators.
Are there any traits or capabilities which you absolutely do not want? I really don't want scales or to be creepy and crawly. I don't feel a strong connection with reptiles or insects.
Are there any animals that you feel drawn to or have a connection with? I really haven't a clue what animals I connect with. I'm hoping you guys will be able to help me out. I'm such an animal lover that I'm awwing and ooooing over just about every animal and wanting to hang out and play with them.
Are there any animals you are afraid of or strongly dislike? I am terrified of crocodiles and alligators. They remind me of dinosaurs which I am very very scared of. Sharks kind of freak me out too for the obvious reasons with the exception of hammerhead sharks, which I just think are cool. Snakes scare me a bit as well. My biggest animal fear though hands down are crocodiles and alligators....ahhhh.
Why would you like to be an animagus? I love love love love love animals. They are a huge passion for me. I think being able to see what it's like from an animals point of view would be an amazing experience. I also think it would be great to have a break from my human form and experience something new. I cannot imagine anything else like it. I'm also really excited to have an animal identity that's all my own. I cannot wait to see what people think would be a good match for me.

Best Trait: I guess it would have to be my sense of humour. I like to make people smile. I love to do silly/stupid things in the hopes that it would make people laugh.
Worst Trait: Sometimes I like to say it how it is. I can be a little blunt without even realising. I don't mean to upset anyone, it's just I'm not very good at sugar coating things.
Do you like to have people around you, or are you more of a loner? I'm definitely a loner. If I had to choose between going out or spending the night at home, I'd stay home. I love my alone time more than anything.
Are you more outgoing or shy? Do you think this would change when you are in your animagus form? I am a bit of both. I'm pretty awkward in social situations and very, very shy. With strangers I tend to get rather anxious and freak out, I don't even like going in to shops I'm unfamiliar with. But if you put me amongst close friends I am very outgoing and become the centre of attention. I don't think I'd be any different as an animagus, I'd be probably just as shy.

What kind of environment would you feel most comfortable in: air, water or earth?
I love the water and the air. I feel most peaceful both swimming in water or with the wind blowing in my face.
What's your favourite kind of weather?
I live in a warm climate and have never seen snow. I complain when my feet get too cold, so I'd prefer a warm climate. I don't feel the heat all that much.
Favourite time of day (or night)?
I'm a night owl. If I want to see the morning, I stay up all night. I loathe waking up early. My favourite time of day would have to be between midnight and 4am when it's so peaceful and quiet.
Are there any traits you think you might like your animagus form to have? I'd like to have fur. I love being warm and I feel that fur would be great. I also think it would be quite awesome to have a tail. I'm quite clumsy, and I feel a tail would help me with balance.
What capabilities is it important that your animagus form have? The ability to protect myself from predators. Either with speed, climbing or even some type of defence. I am pretty defensive with interacting with new people, so I guess it would be the same as an animagus.
Are there any traits or capabilities which you absolutely do not want? Scales. Ewww.
Are there any animals that you feel drawn to or have a connection with? I love dogs and cats, but doesn't everyone? I also adore birds, I used to have a parrot and they facinate me. I also have this weird connection with camels.
Are there any animals you are afraid of or strongly dislike? I can't stand snakes or anything with scales. Although I like turtles, but I guess they're not scaley. XD
Why would you like to be an animagus? I love animals, and I guess it would be pretty amazing to be able to change into one.
