Vote 6: okay, fair enough, hippos! Going with the pygmy hippopotamus here, for a number of reasons. Most importantly, the pygmy has different set of social interactions, living together in small family units (or alone, which ties into being closed off at times), whereas the regular hippo kind of just groups because no reasons and is surrounded by strangers; plus, the pygmy is smaller, and the applicant isn't especially tall. The hippo pretty much stays in the water all the time, which is in line with the applicants preferences, but it also spends time on land, too, also in line with the applicants preferences. As for escaping/camouflage, pygmy hippos can sit still in the water for days, which sounds like some pretty efficient camouflage to me. Adding to this, the applicant likes peace and quiet, and sitting still in the water seems rather peaceful.
Vote 7: I choose the Yellow-Footed Rock Wallaby for applicant #565. The applicant said she loved the sunrise and sunset part of the day the most, and that made me immediately think of a kangaroo/wallaby type. Wallabies are mostly found to graze at dawn and dusk during the coolest part of the day. The applicant wanted an animal with good sight and hearing, wallabies have great eyesight and hearing to protect them from predators, so they are able to flee quickly. Wallabies live in colonies, they aren't overly social but have close family to keep them company, which I feel fits the applicants like of people but also being alone. The applicant wanted an animal who could flee danger quickly, Yellow-Footed Rock Wallabies are very fast and agile, and scale rocky terrain very quickly to escape predators.
Vote 8: I picked the African Leopard for this applicant. Here are my reasons: 1. It occupies the rain-forest/desert habitat of Sub-Sahara Africa, which gives this applicant her warm weather. 2. It has four legs, fur, tail, paws, good hearing, and can climb trees; all of which are preferences for this applicant. 3. The African Leopard is active between sunset and sunrise, which can fulfill her preference for the early morning, just after sunset times she likes.
Vote 9: Well, the applicant mentioned the Hippopotamus by name, and I think that would make a great animagus form for them, given their other preferences. Since the applicant professes a love for both water and land, but would prefer to have four legs, an animal that spends plenty of time in water but also walks on land sounds absolutely ideal. The hippo spends quite a good deal of its time in the water, staying cool and hydrated, but then moves inland to eat. This shift also occurs at dusk, which fits in nicely with what the applicant said about most enjoying sunrise and sunset. While the rest of the world is standing still, the applicant would be on the move. Hippopotamuses move in groups, and since the applicant expressed a love for people and an outgoing nature (at least when they feel comfortable), the animal seems well-suited in that regard too.
Vote 10: Pygmy Hippopotamus
She loves hippos so I looked to see if any hippo species matched her She liked living in water and the pygmy hippo does tend to live closer to water to keep its skin moisturized She wanted an animal with good senses, and pygmy hippos actually communicate with each other using infrasound, which helps them keep abreast of each others' whereabouts without having visual confirmation. Infrasound helps them signal to each other in frequencies that human hearing cannot detect. Our applicant also describes herself as kind and the pygmy hippo is a very peaceful animal.
