I think you would make a good Burrunan Dolphin. I always think of dolphins as kind creatures and that seems to really suit you. You mentioned really loving water so this would be a great fit for you. If this dolphin did come upon danger, it would be able to swim away like you specified wanting to be able to do. You thought it would be cool to have flippers so this meets another requirement. This is a rare breed of dolphin which is why I picked it for you. Because there are only about 150 of them and they are split into two different places, you would mostly be around people you know like friends and family. It seems to fit well with your answer when asked about being a loner or with people.

Vote 2:
As soon as the applicant said she retreats within herself I thought of a hedgehog curling into a ball in defense. The fact that she liked water made me think she wouldn't make a good hedgehog, though, until I read that they are excellent swimmers and "take to the water with enthusiasm." This animal also has four legs and a tail, as the applicant prefers. Wikipedia says hedgehogs prefer to flee than confront a threat, and this was also the preference of the applicant. They can also be quite kind, as some are domesticated. I am choosing the Indian hedgehog because it lives close to water and in warmer climates and it is somewhat smaller than the average hedgehog, and the applicant at 5'5" is also smaller than the average person.

Vote 3:
What stood out the most was the way you describe yourself as closing yourself off - and what types of animals are known for that? Turtles! The leatherback sea turtle feels like a good fit for a number of reasons. First, it can close itself into its shell just like the way to tend to hide. Also, living on water but nesting on land matches well with your preference for water but comfort in every environment. Finally, the warm waters it live in are definitely close to the 60 to 70 degrees you preer. And although turtles aren't exactly known for their speed, these are an ironic exception... having been clocked at swimming over 22 minutes an hour, they would probably be able to beat a hare in a race even if the hare had NOT been napping...

Vote 4:
A great choice here would be the South China Tiger. As a big cat, it matches the types of animals to which the applicant has an affinity. Being endemic to southeast Asia, the animal would be used to warmer climates, like the applicant prefers. The applicant prefers before sunrise and just after sunset for times of day, and the tiger is primarily a nocturnal hunter. The applicant mentioned wanting fur and a tail, which is something the South China Tiger posesses. Also, the applicant wanted to be able to get away quickly and also mentioned wanting to climb trees - both requests met by this particular form.

Vote 5:
I chose the Long-tailed chinchilla for this applicant.
• Behavior: The applicant said that they preferred early morning and evening, so I chose a crepuscular animal. Chinchillas are social animals and live in herds (like colonies); the applicant said they liked to be around people (especially family and friends). The applicant also wished to be able to escape from predators quickly, and the chinchillas is a surprisingly fast runner for its size/appearance. Also, chinchillas are accomplished jumpers, which I likened to the applicant's love of soaring in the sky.
• Habitat: One thing that immediately drew my attention was the chinchilla's habitat needs. Chinchillas cannot sweat and thus are in danger of heatstroke if exposed to temperatures above 80 degrees F for extended periods. The applicant specified that they preferred temperatures around 60-70 degrees - very similar to the chinchilla's needs!
• Appearance: The applicant had numerous characteristics they would enjoy having in their Animagus form, and the chinchilla fits several of these: four legs, fur, and a tail. Chinchillas are especially known for their fur (and have been driven to endangered status in the wild because of their highly desirable fur), and I chose the Long-tailed subspecies because, as the name implies, it has the longest tail of the subspecies.

Vote 6:
okay, fair enough, hippos! Going with the pygmy hippopotamus here, for a number of reasons. Most importantly, the pygmy has different set of social interactions, living together in small family units (or alone, which ties into being closed off at times), whereas the regular hippo kind of just groups because no reasons and is surrounded by strangers; plus, the pygmy is smaller, and the applicant isn't especially tall.
The hippo pretty much stays in the water all the time, which is in line with the applicants preferences, but it also spends time on land, too, also in line with the applicants preferences. As for escaping/camouflage, pygmy hippos can sit still in the water for days, which sounds like some pretty efficient camouflage to me.
Adding to this, the applicant likes peace and quiet, and sitting still in the water seems rather peaceful.

Vote 7:
I choose the Yellow-Footed Rock Wallaby for applicant #565. The applicant said she loved the sunrise and sunset part of the day the most, and that made me immediately think of a kangaroo/wallaby type. Wallabies are mostly found to graze at dawn and dusk during the coolest part of the day. The applicant wanted an animal with good sight and hearing, wallabies have great eyesight and hearing to protect them from predators, so they are able to flee quickly. Wallabies live in colonies, they aren't overly social but have close family to keep them company, which I feel fits the applicants like of people but also being alone. The applicant wanted an animal who could flee danger quickly, Yellow-Footed Rock Wallabies are very fast and agile, and scale rocky terrain very quickly to escape predators.

Vote 8:
I picked the African Leopard for this applicant. Here are my reasons:
1. It occupies the rain-forest/desert habitat of Sub-Sahara Africa, which gives this applicant her warm weather.
2. It has four legs, fur, tail, paws, good hearing, and can climb trees; all of which are preferences for
this applicant.
3. The African Leopard is active between sunset and sunrise, which can fulfill her preference for the early morning, just after sunset times she likes.

Vote 9:
Well, the applicant mentioned the Hippopotamus by name, and I think that would make a great animagus form for them, given their other preferences. Since the applicant professes a love for both water and land, but would prefer to have four legs, an animal that spends plenty of time in water but also walks on land sounds absolutely ideal. The hippo spends quite a good deal of its time in the water, staying cool and hydrated, but then moves inland to eat. This shift also occurs at dusk, which fits in nicely with what the applicant said about most enjoying sunrise and sunset. While the rest of the world is standing still, the applicant would be on the move. Hippopotamuses move in groups, and since the applicant expressed a love for people and an outgoing nature (at least when they feel comfortable), the animal seems well-suited in that regard too.

Vote 10:
Pygmy Hippopotamus

She loves hippos so I looked to see if any hippo species matched her
She liked living in water and the pygmy hippo does tend to live closer to water to keep its skin moisturized
She wanted an animal with good senses, and pygmy hippos actually communicate with each other using infrasound, which helps them keep abreast of each others' whereabouts without having visual confirmation.
Infrasound helps them signal to each other in frequencies that human hearing cannot detect.
Our applicant also describes herself as kind and the pygmy hippo is a very peaceful animal.

For this applicant, I suggest the Fishing Cat. Since she wanted fur, a tail and excellent eyesight, this cat will be a perfect fit because it possesses all three. She wanted to be able to move quickly and this cat can run quickly in mud as well as swim swiftly. Unlike a lot of cats, the Fishing Cat loves water much like the applicant and can even swim long distances under water.

Vote 12:
You mentioned liking water, earth and air, so because of that, I think the Atlantic Puffin would be a great choice. This adorable little bird lives by the ocean, flies but can also walk, so you would have the option of doing both. In addition the ability to fly would also allow you the chance to do two of the things you mentioned - get away from danger and have time alone with your thoughts (really, how peaceful would it be up there just floating around on the clouds?). You describe yourself as liking to be around people you know the best, and Puffins are like that. They are a monogamous species and both parents stick around to take care of their children. You also said your best trait is your kindness, and these little birds are really sweet.
They often allow humans to come near them and are thus considered very tame.
