I got an owl vibe from this applicant. I focused on the Common Great Horned Owl because of the focus on distinct appearance and adaptable nature related to their answer on what environment they prefer.
-The Great Horned Owl is widely distributed, and the applicant expressed interest in rain/storms/snow, and I think that this wouldn't be a problem with this species.
-She desires a special trait, such as unique appearance or call. The Great Horned Owl has a low-pitched eerie call and tufts of feather that look like horns on their head, making them look a bit unique to other owls.
-She stated that she loves the night time and the sun hurts her eyes/makes her feel lethargic. This reminds me of the owl, as they are fantastic nocturnal animals. They have great binocular vision and can pinpoint prey and see in low light.
Other reasons I chose an owl - she mentioned being more solitary, desires flight, freedom, or moving fast. She doesn't want to be preoccupied with 'surviving' (like prey) and the owls are a great predator. She wants to be badass.. and I've always related the Great Horned Owl to be one of the most baddass owl species ;)
