Best Trait: Friendly. I make friends easily. I’m not going to lie and say I don’t have this appeal. I like helping people and being somebody they turn to. I give up a lot of things because somebody else needs it more than me. New students in my class go through me first. I smile a lot--which probably helps. I say sorry every time I tease someone. It’s automatic. I don’t get mad easily, so oftentimes people think I’m just a friendly ball of excitement.
Worst Trait: Over-confidence. Sometimes, I think I’m too awesome. That I’m invincible and that nothing somebody says can hurt me. But it does. Sometimes I think I know everything and that people love me enough to follow me. That all my friend’s problems will be solved with a little smile from me. I go into a softball game thinking that my team would always win. And the worst thing is, whatever I say is with absolute faith in myself. And people believe me and they get let down when what I say doesn’t happen. And well, I can’t stand having people around me sad because of what I said, so I say something else and the cycle repeats itself.
Do you like to have people around you, or are you more of a loner? I love having people around me. I can’t stand being left out. Having people around me makes me feel safe. Without them, I get scared and lonely. I like the comfort that comes with a warm body or kind words. I like coming home to something I can snuggle into to. But well, I wouldn’t want to be around people 24/7. I want a chance to lay back and just relax.
Are you more outgoing or shy? Do you think this would change when you are in your animagus form? I’m pretty outgoing and loud. I love attention, and I soak up the praise. But as an animagus, I think I would be more reserved. Contrary to popular belief, being outgoing is not automatic for me. It’s like an instinctual defense. I want to be able to let down my guards and just enjoy the quietness around me. I mean, I wouldn’t be shy… but I wouldn’t be so loud either. I want to be noticed, but not in the center of attention. Even if it’s one person, I’m okay with that. As long as I don’t have to pretend.
Please give an accurate description of your appearance; pictures are welcome! Well, I’m naturally brown, 5 foot 3 inches and thin. I have black hair with bangs. I have black glasses. My legs are kind not proportionate to my body, because all the fat goes there. I have a few moles. One on my jaw, on the right side, another on my left pinky. I have others that I don’t care about. =)) Also, I have two birthmarks on my left shoulder. One looks a lot like Greenland, while the one below it is an equal sign. I also have birthmarks on the back of my knee (a bunny with a cloud on top of its head.) The left one. And then there are the birthmarks on my inner thighs. They’re blobs. :D There’s another birthmark (the tiniest one) on my forehead. It’s just a spot, but I hate it.

What kind of environment would you feel most comfortable in: air, water or earth? Air. Or well, earth. I’d like to fly, you know? I’ve always enjoyed airplanes and being in the air. I don’t like water. I’m… Water-phobic. I fell in the pool once when I was 3, and I really can’t forget something like that. I like trees. I love climbing them. That’s why the Earth and the Air are probably the most comfortable for me. =)) I like having a broad expanse of open space around me. Even if well, trees are in the way.
What's your favorite kind of weather? Cloudy. Windy. And sunny. Not too hot, because too much Vitamin D sucks. I love having the feel of the warm sun on my skin and the wind tickling my face. It’s the perfect time to run around, especially if you’re going the direction the wind is going. It makes me feel invincible. It makes me feel fast, and I love that feeling. Where your heart is beating so fast and your side hurts but you just don’t stop because it feels good.
Favorite time of day (or night)? That time of the day when you can already see the moon. That’s awesome. I love pointing it out to people. It’s either that, or the time of the night when the first star starts becoming visible. Wishes are a big thing for me, and the contrasting colors look amazing. The night is awesome, but I don’t always enjoy it. *wince* I get scared easily, so I’d rather be in a place with light.
Are there any traits you think you might like your animagus form to have? I don’t really care about tails, but I’d like markings. Especially around the eyes because those are totally cool. I want to be soft. =)) LOL, I’m particularly sensitive to texture.
What capabilities is it important that your animagus form have? I want to be able to run fast. I want to fly. =)) I want to be loved, because I’m that freaking adorable. I want to be able to climb trees, but that’s just a plus and not so important. I want an animal that can blend in with the sky or the air.
Are there any traits or capabilities which you absolutely do not want? Scales. Fins. Flippers. A bill. I don’t want to be feared. Something that stands out. I don’t want long fur because that’s difficult to take care of. Just saying.
Are there any animals that you feel drawn to or have a connection with? Dogs. But that’s mainly because I’ve been surrounded by them growing up. I love dogs! Deer. I’ve always loved them. They are so pretty. Also, I played a deer once in school for ballet. It was absolutely wonderful and I felt so amazing. But not anything that can fly, even if I want to.
Are there any animals you are afraid of or strongly dislike? Reptiles. Spiders. Big scary animals. =)) Like elephants. But giraffes and bears are totally cool, even if they’re big. Anything without limbs. And monkeys. Just… No. No. Monkeys are scary, and I’m really sorry if that’s insulting, but I don’t like them! :(
Why would you like to be an animagus? It’s… Cool. I love the feeling that I’m someone else, so what better than to be something else? I’ve been around animals since I remember and I think they’re absolutely wonderful. Also, I want to have fun. I love playing around, and animals love playing around… so tada?

Best Trait:
*takes a huge breath* I have a deep capacity to care and to love. The best way to explain myself as an INFP: if I love you, I will love and care for you dearly. I will snag you and you will never be safe from me. For me, this is my best trait because I value it far more than any of my other traits and abilities. The ability and desire to love and care is one that took me years to realise about myself. When I let people into my inner circle, I trust them and I care for them intensely. Whenever I see someone I care about getting hurt, or feeling down, it makes me feel bad and even sometimes guilty. I feel a strong need to comfort them, encourage them, and show them copious amounts of affection.
Worst Trait:
I freely admit that I have major issues with conflict. When faced with a direct confrontation, my mind goes into overdrive, and it takes a lot for me to react objectively rather than emotionally. As such, I invariably either freeze when confronted, take a long while to stammer out something reasonable, or just react very emotionally (i.e. cry, shout and rant internally, etc). And because I fear and dislike conflict and harsh criticism, I have a tendency to blame myself for anything and everything.
Do you like to have people around you, or are you more of a loner?
Well, there are times when being alone is good, and there are times when having more people around is a plus. Growing up, for me, was quite lonely, since my two brothers are twins and they did everything together. I've always seen myself as isolated, and I think that really cultivated the introverted personality in me. However, as I moved on to higher education and started coming out of my shell and meeting new people, I've really grown to love having people around me, especially friends and family. Relatively, though, I still am mostly a loner (I talk to myself quite often as a result). But I like having the buzz and laughter of people I know around me. I sincerely hate having loads of people crowd me though, so going to shopping centres filled with strangers isn't my idea of 'having people around me'. So basically, I'm more towards being a loner, but I can be sociable when I'm surrounded by people I love.
Are you more outgoing or shy? Do you think this would change when you are in your animagus form?
I am more shy. I'm afraid of approaching strangers, or people I know only by name/appearance. I'm a chicken when it comes to talking to higher authority as well. But I'm glad to report that I'm outgoing when I'm surrounded by friends and family (see above), and usually am more open to meeting new people when they're around me. I think this would change when I'm in my Animagus form. I'm not afraid to admit that I tend to hide behind personas sometimes, because I can be guarded about my personal life/feelings/details. In my new form, I'd probably be more wary than shy, but definitely more outgoing.

I am 160cm tall thereabouts, medium build, I guess. I have thick dark black hair (yes, dark black) that is currently slightly below my shoulders and a little curly. I'm rather dark-skinned, a tea-coloured brown, or a cardboard-coloured brown, either one. I have dark brown eyes with relatively long eyelashes. When I smile, my eyes go really small. What kind of environment would you feel most comfortable in: air, water or earth?
Tough question. Bear with me here. I would definitely not be comfortable in a muddy place, i.e. when water and earth collide and the place is all… sludgy. I like air because it has wind that makes me feel like I'm flying, which is something which I find absolutely beautiful and freeing. I had a dream when I was flying like Wendy and Peter Pan once when I was a child. It was wonderful, because it felt like nothing could have held me down except for gravity. Then again, I'm also comfortable with water, because it's like flying but underwater. The only problem I have with water is that when it's really deep, it gets dark and dangerous and frightening… I have a fear of unknown deep dark spaces, i.e. deep space or water - if I start imagining too much I hyperventilate and that is not cool at all, I assure you. I like to be on terra firma because it makes me feel grounded (hah, pun!) and safe. So my first choice would be earth, air then water.
What's your favourite kind of weather?
I love rainy days because the rain lulls me to sleep and it's cool. Coming from a country with either summer-hot sun or monsoon-like rain, I'd prefer a cool kind of weather. A simple shower will do, with mild winds. Not a thunder/lightning-storm.
Favourite time of day (or night)?
11pm to 3am. Night, when it's fully dark. I like sunsets, but I simply dislike the time when it's midway between dark and light. I don't like it because it's dark enough to make me worry about my eyes and yet light enough not to switch on the light. Weird me, huh? I like the hours of 11 to 3 when it's silent, and I'm all alone with my thoughts and music and words. And also because that's when I can fall asleep peacefully.
Are there any traits you think you might like your animagus form to have?
I would like to have a coat/feathers in dark/simple colours. I wouldn't like bright colours, because I don't want to attract attention to myself. I would like something unique though, like a special marking or something. My dog has a pretty amazing five dots pigmentation on her back that's like the wu tong in mahjong. I think I would like my animagus form to be intelligent (especially when faced with an attacker) and to be be caring as well, because those two traits are what I strive to be as a person.
What capabilities is it important that your animagus form have?
Perhaps it could be an animal that runs/flies/swims pretty fast? I like the sound of whooshing - wind, water - go past my ears. But other than that, nothing really important :)
Are there any traits or capabilities which you absolutely do not want?
Bright colours. That is all.
Are there any animals that you feel drawn to or have a connection with?
I love dogs. They're so friendly and non-judgemental and fun! And warm, they are. Strangely enough, I've always felt connected to wolves and Huskies. To me, they're primal and elegant and just express raw emotion. They also exude a kind of wisdom and strength that I admire. And dolphins. I like dolphins. Mostly because they are protective, playful and intelligent.
Are there any animals you are afraid of or strongly dislike?
I'm not a huge fan of sharks (sorry!) and other creatures of the deep because I have a fear of being dragged down into deep water and drowning. I dislike worms, as well as cockroaches (they scuttle around with horribly long antennae and legs and they can fly. DNW!).
Why would you like to be an animagus?
I'd love to be an Animagus because it'd mean I'd completed one of the toughest magics and also because I think it'd be pretty fun and cool to literally gain a different perspective of the world around me. Besides, it appeals to me in terms of learning how to see/walk/fly/swim/live as an animal. In addition, I think that communication between species is so amazing. Like Prongs and Padfoot communicating in a different/new language? Brilliant! It would also appeal to me as a humbling process, knowing and understanding that we are all bowed equally before life and death.

Best Trait: I'm a very understanding and fair person. For example, I'll listen to you pour your heart out and not judge you on anything you say. Or I'll give you advice if you think you need it, or help you with studying, and I'll make sure you get the most out of it. Or maybe we had a lunch date and at the last minute you have to bail- but no worries, because I totally understand; you can't be perfect all the time.
Worst Trait: I can be overly fearful of things that are out of my comfort zone. For example, speaking in front of a class or giving a presentation, or going on a high ropes course, or speaking to a guy I like, that sort of thing. I end up freaking out and I panic, and I usually try to do anything I have to in order to get out of the situation. I consider it my worst trait because it's one of the only things I actually dislike about myself... It's the thing I would like to change most.
Do you like to have people around you, or are you more of a loner? Although I do enjoy my quiet time, being alone 24/7 gets boring quickly. I like to have people around me mostly; whether it's my siblings and we're in the same room working on homework together, or if it's my small group of close-knit friends just hanging out, or even if it's my large group of school friends- being surrounded by people makes me feel more comfortable than I would be if I was just standing by myself. But that's not to say that I love being in the spotlight: I loathe it, actually. So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I like being surrounded by people, I just don't enjoy being in the middle of them. If that makes any sense at all.
Are you more outgoing or shy? Do you think this would change when you are in your animagus form? I am most definitely more shy, as my above answers imply. I do occassionally have my outgoing moments, but it's mostly when I feel that I am in a more superior position than those who are around me; for example, if I meet a new freshman, I'm more likely to act like myself with them than if I were to meet someone new that's my own age. Given this, I do believe that I would become more outgoing in my animagus form. Not only would I not resemble my physical self (and therefore I wouldn't have to worry about doing something that would embarass mein front of my friends), but I think I'd also be in a kind of "superior" position as an animal. I'd have abilities that my human self would not, so therefore I'd be more willing be outgoing and how my true personality.
Please give an accurate description of your appearance; pictures are welcome! Medium height (5'6"), pale, nearly-shoulder-length brown hair, hazel eyes, etc. etc. etc. Here, have some pictures! Here~ and here~. Not exactly good quality, but it gets the job done. (In case it wasn't obvious, I'm the one on the right in the first one!)
What kind of environment would you feel most comfortable in: air, water or earth? Probably a mixture between earth and air; because, while I do love the water, I'm a horribe swimmer, and get seasick if the water gets too rocky. I say a mixture of both air and earth because I really adore everything about the sky, but I'm more comfortable on land. The sky holds the stars, the sun, the planets, asteroids, meteors, clouds, and birds- all things that have a special place in my heart. I love the feel of it too; my favorite time of day is when it's windy or breezy outside, and I love when I go out into the country and the air actually smells fresh. On the other hand, I'm kind of afraid of heights (I learned this the hard way when taking Adventure Ed this semester...). So I'm not sure how practical that would be, despite my otherwise solid love for the air and sky. Then, there's earth. I've never felt particularly attracted to it, but I do know that I am most comfortable in it. I'm a dreamer, but I like to keep my feet on the ground, just in case. It's like a comfort object to me. You know, like that stuffed animal that you used to fall asleep with? That's what earth is for me. It keeps me grounded, in reality. So that's why I say both air and earth. Both elements are in me.
What's your favourite kind of weather? Windy or breezy days, as mentioned above. It's refreshing, and I love the bite you feel when the wind whips your face. I also love the rain. Not like thunderstorm rain, just a drizzle or something (with some wind of course). That's my favorite kind of weather!
Favourite time of day (or night)? I love the nighttime, when there are little or no clouds and the stars are out and shining brightly. It's calming and comforting to me, because I like to think about what else is out there, and what our purpose on Earth really is. I'm not quite sure how that kind of thinking ends up calming me down, but it does. Plus, there aren't usually any trains during the night (I live in a train NIGHTMARE of a place). So that adds to the peaceful feel that I love about the night.
Are there any traits you think you might like your animagus form to have? This is kind of weird, but I'd like to not be just, like, skin. Like those Siamese cats, who have no fur? That's what I mean. I'd like to have something on me. Whether it be fur, feathers, scales, whatever you think fits best- just make sure I'm not naked, haha!
What capabilities is it important that your animagus form have? I don't know if this counts, but something fairly intelligent? It doesn't have to be, for example, monkey-intelligent. But intelligent for the type of animal it is in it's environment. In other words, I'd like to not be on the bottom of the food chain...
Are there any traits or capabilities which you absolutely do not want? Nothing too slow. I interpret my animagus form as being a way for me to move around more quickly than usual, or with more ease, and I think something slow would obviously negate that wish.
Are there any animals that you feel drawn to or have a connection with? I've always had a thing for butterflys. I think my love for them started when a monarch landed on me at one of my brother's baseball games. Since then, I've collected two different butterfly necklaces, a butterfly ring, and a butterfly t-shirt. (All of which were gifts; I actually didn't realize till early last year that I'd started a mini-collection!) I also love to just stop and watch them sometimes. They seem like such peaceful creatures, and they're gorgeous. ♥ They also have lovely symbolism in different culture. My favorite is the Japanese belief that butterflys are the personification of a person's soul. I think that's such a beautiful notion.
Are there any animals you are afraid of or strongly dislike? Any kind of creepy-crawly bugs or insects, especially spiders (and scorpions, as an extention). Bugs like centipedes, millipedes, worms, other gross bugs that I probably don't even know the name of, that sort of thing. Bleh.
Why would you like to be an animagus? For one, I love animals. And I think it would be pretty kick-ass to be able to turn into one. Plus, the ability is very practical, and I could see myself using it regularly to help myself or others. Plus, one of my old teachers got me into totems when I took her class; she always talked about having the eagle as one of her totems, and I've always wanted to know what mine would be. I kind of see being an animagus as an extension of that, so this is like that wish being granted!

Best Trait: I think my best trait is my curiosity. I love learning about the world and other people, and I find it difficult not to look at things from as many sides as possible. My curiosity helps me not only absorb information I need to be successful but also, I feel, leads me to weird but fun interests that make me unique.
Worst Trait: Laziness, laziness, laziness. If there’s a way around spending time on something, I will use it unless it’s cheating (I have a terrible guilt complex when it comes to that sort of thing). I procrastinate like a maniac, though more often than not I’ll get things in on time. I guess my problem is that I want to turn things in and do my work honestly (except for Sparknotes-I make an exception for Sparknotes because books are long and I hate being forced to read), but I don’t want to do the actual work.
Do you like to have people around you, or are you more of a loner? I do like to have people around, but only for so long. I can happily spend a whole day with people as long as I get at least an hour or so alone, otherwise I get tired out. People are fun and exciting and wonderful, but I have to have some time alone with my thoughts and my little brain-worlds.
Are you more outgoing or shy? Do you think this would change when you are in your animagus form? Honestly, it depends on who I’m around. If people seem welcoming, I’m pretty darn outgoing. However, if I’m worried that people are going to judge me, I’m still outgoing, but I’m less myself. I dunno. I feel shy in those situations, but I don’t think that’s the impression I give people. I just act more, you know, normal, which is kind of uncomfortable for me. It’s like when you first start ice skating and you do that awkward shuffling thing-it gets you by, but it doesn’t feel right and you probably look silly.
Please give an accurate description of your appearance; pictures are welcome! I’m 5’0, medium build, small shoulders, pale skin with that lovely Irish rosy tint that looks hilarious when I laugh too hard. My hair is light brown and curly and goes a little past my shoulders. My face is kind of round (though my jaw’s not too round itself-kind of, but not, like, ovular). Cheekbones aren’t too prominent, kind of a round nose, big eyes. My eyes are actually my favorite physical feature. I have fairly long eyelashes, and my eyes are a cool shade of green around the very edge, blue-green in the center, and have a yellow ring around the pupil. It’s fun. Also, I wear glasses, if that matters. Oh, and teeth are kinda square.
What kind of environment would you feel most comfortable in: air, water or earth? Earth, definitely. While I absolutely love the water, it’s kind of inconsistent. I only really like the ocean, and only when I’m on a boat, playing in the waves, or snorkeling. I’m kind of weird about pools, and I think lakes are really gross. I just plain don’t like air. I’m terrified of heights, I hate wind, and I’m constantly clinging to my seat and praying when I’m in airplanes. Earth, however, is stable, diverse, and beautiful in so many different ways. It has trees and mountains and deserts and pretty much everything we live with. It’s comfortable.
What's your favourite kind of weather? I think I’m going to have to say when it gets cold before and during the holidays. It just puts me in a good mood, and I love getting to wear warmer clothes (I’m from Southern California-60° is cold for us). Even without the holidays, it’s just nice to have some variety in the weather without it being too uncomfortable. I do like warm days, but they just make me wish it was summer, except for when it’s summer and I’m just kind of meh about it because it’s summer and the weather’s doing what it’s supposed to do.
Favourite time of day (or night)? Right after my family goes to bed and I have the house all to myself. I get to play music or read weird things or giggle to myself, and I’m by myself until I get up the next morning, so I have a ton of time to just think or whatever. It’s when I feel most like me.
Are there any traits you think you might like your animagus form to have? I think I would want to be kind of small to medium. You know, able to get into small places or whatever.
What capabilities is it important that your animagus form have? I think I’d like to be kind of speedy. And able to smell things better. And see in the dark (not necessarily nocturnal, but, you know, like dogs or deer can. The glowy eye thing).
Are there any traits or capabilities which you absolutely do not want? Slime. That’d get messy.
Are there any animals that you feel drawn to or have a connection with? Honestly, I don’t think so. I can connect with individual animals, like pets, but not an animal in general. I mean, cats seem to love me, but I don’t have extended contact with them.
Are there any animals you are afraid of or strongly dislike? Are bugs animals? I don’t want to be a bug.
Why would you like to be an animagus? I think it’d be cool to see the world from the point of view of something not human. It’d also be cool to be able to do things I can’t in my own form. Not to mention it’d be fun to sneak around places or run wild whenever I feel like it.. Plus, I mean, it’s just plain cool. Who doesn’t want to be able to turn into an animal like that?

Best Trait: Obsessiveness. I get really, really into things, to the point where I reject everything else. This lets me make a lot of progress on certain things very quickly--skills, fandoms, random areas of interest. I absorb information, I make very quick progress, and I improve on related skills. I can hyperfocus on one thing for ridiculous amounts of time.
Worst Trait: Obsessiveness. I get really, really into things, to the point where I reject everything else. I don't eat for longer than I should, I snap at people, I get overprotective of my project, I have difficulty stopping and participating in regular, day-to-day activities... It becomes a bit of an issue.
Do you like to have people around you, or are you more of a loner?
It depends. I like to be with small groups of people, preferably people I know well, which means they have similar interests and can understand my sense of humor, which I think can sometimes be a bit too deadpan for some. I do not generally like large groups of people that I do not know. (At parties and dances, for example, which I avoid if I can help it.) I get very angry at people who move slowly, and the noise is totally off-putting, and I can’t say I’m a fan of being so close to so many people. And when I have to settle into a new situation, I do like having one other person I know with me, for reassurance, because I get totally freaked out when I don't know where I'm supposed to be...
Anyway, small groups are fine by me, but I do need long periods of time alone, during which I hate to be spoken to in general. Although even in small groups of people I know, I tend to have to repeat myself several times in order to be heard.
Are you more outgoing or shy? Do you think this would change when you are in your animagus form?
More shy, I think. It depends on the situation, I suppose, but I'm usually not one (at least in real life) to jump right into things socially, because that rarely ends well. I suppose I alternate periods of social overconfidence and anxiety. I can never tell when people genuinely enjoy my company, or if they're just being polite, or worse. I have trouble looking people in the eyes, and I'm always missing something. But really, it varies. Sometimes without much of a reason.
I think in my animagus form, it would be much the same. I'd probably be even less outgoing, because I wouldn't want to attract too much attention. Usually, when a wild animal approaches someone, (particularly if it's nocturnal) it's not a particularly good sign.

I'm a bit on the taller side of average, (a bit above 5'7'',) and about average weight. My eyes are dark brown. My hair is dark brown, kind of curly, kind of wavy, kind of a mess. I mean, if I brush it, it just goes pffffffft! And if I don't, it lies down properly, but it tangles more. And it gets everywhere. Picture River Tam's hair, but slightly darker and bigger/messier. I generally look slightly disheveled, and, so I'm told, rather nervous.
What kind of environment would you feel most comfortable in: air, water or earth?
I don't know. I suppose air or earth. I absolutely hate flying on a plane, but for reasons that would not be applicable to a bird--I have always felt like I should be able to fly.
Water would just be uncomfortable for me. Plus, a water option could be pretty impractical--I mean, very practical for certain situations, but then the other ninety percent of the time, you're kind of stuck without a use for this power you've spent so long working on.
An earthbound animal would also make a lot of sense, without being a particularly disturbing experience.
What's your favourite kind of weather?
I like it when it's cold and cloudy and rainy. Not necessarily thunder and lightning, partially because the noise is a bit off-putting, and partially because I'm always afraid I'll be struck. I am not afraid of thunder, because thunder, while sometimes slightly disconcerting simply because it is a Loud Noise, can not hurt me. Lightning can. I always get disappointed when the sun comes out and everything gets sticky. Basically, I seem to prefer the kind of weather that everyone else thinks is really crappy. If I were forced to choose between intense heat and intense cold, I would have to pick the latter.
Favourite time of day (or night)?
I hate hate hate mornings. The 11-12 AM/PM range is okay, because it's not so early that you have to wake up, but it's not so late that you can't do anything, either. But mornings are terrible times for me.
I also like ungodly predawn hours when everyone else is asleep. My fellow denizens of Clawchat can attest to this. There's just something really comfortable about it for me. Time lasts longer, and I don't have to worry about being bothered. It's hardly healthy, but I like it.
Are there any traits you think you might like your animagus form to have?
Just something practical for a variety of environments might be nice. Polar bears are not well suited to milder climates, and I wouldn't like to be something that can't leave the water.
What capabilities is it important that your animagus form have?
I've always felt like I should be able to fly. That’s a big one. And at the very least, I would appreciate something with some physical advantage over a human, and some speed wouldn’t be bad, though it’s not necessarily a priority. It would also be nice to have something more or less adaptable, or at least practical for what one might consider an “average” climate--i.e. not something suited exclusively to intense heat or cold, which wouldn’t be very sensible. Also, if it isn’t something widely preyed upon or hunted (by humans or other creatures,) that would be a nice plus.
Are there any traits or capabilities which you absolutely do not want?
I'd rather not be something water-bound. If it can walk and swim, that's fine, but nothing that lives in the water, just because that's really impractical, and being stuck in the open water could prove a bit nightmarish for me.
Are there any animals that you feel drawn to or have a connection with?
I am definitely a dog person. Dogs and I get along quite well. I know their body language far better than I know human body language. I know way too much about them, and I still don't know enough. Also rats. I've had a few as pets, and they are far more awesome than even JKR lets on.
Other than that, I dunno. I haven't had too much experience with other animals, though I'd love to try it.
Are there any animals you are afraid of or strongly dislike?
I'm still working on understanding cats. (I’m allergic to them, which means I can’t get close enough to learn to understand them, because I always have to be very cautious around them.)
Why would you like to be an animagus? It would be rather convenient for travel. And I've always been intrigued with the idea. Also, I would quite like to be able to fly.

Best Trait: Friendly. I make friends easily. I’m not going to lie and say I don’t have this appeal. I like helping people and being somebody they turn to. I give up a lot of things because somebody else needs it more than me. New students in my class go through me first. I smile a lot--which probably helps. I say sorry every time I tease someone. It’s automatic. I don’t get mad easily, so oftentimes people think I’m just a friendly ball of excitement.
Worst Trait: Over-confidence. Sometimes, I think I’m too awesome. That I’m invincible and that nothing somebody says can hurt me. But it does. Sometimes I think I know everything and that people love me enough to follow me. That all my friend’s problems will be solved with a little smile from me. I go into a softball game thinking that my team would always win. And the worst thing is, whatever I say is with absolute faith in myself. And people believe me and they get let down when what I say doesn’t happen. And well, I can’t stand having people around me sad because of what I said, so I say something else and the cycle repeats itself.
Do you like to have people around you, or are you more of a loner? I love having people around me. I can’t stand being left out. Having people around me makes me feel safe. Without them, I get scared and lonely. I like the comfort that comes with a warm body or kind words. I like coming home to something I can snuggle into to. But well, I wouldn’t want to be around people 24/7. I want a chance to lay back and just relax.
Are you more outgoing or shy? Do you think this would change when you are in your animagus form? I’m pretty outgoing and loud. I love attention, and I soak up the praise. But as an animagus, I think I would be more reserved. Contrary to popular belief, being outgoing is not automatic for me. It’s like an instinctual defense. I want to be able to let down my guards and just enjoy the quietness around me. I mean, I wouldn’t be shy… but I wouldn’t be so loud either. I want to be noticed, but not in the center of attention. Even if it’s one person, I’m okay with that. As long as I don’t have to pretend.
Please give an accurate description of your appearance; pictures are welcome! Well, I’m naturally brown, 5 foot 3 inches and thin. I have black hair with bangs. I have black glasses. My legs are kind not proportionate to my body, because all the fat goes there. I have a few moles. One on my jaw, on the right side, another on my left pinky. I have others that I don’t care about. =)) Also, I have two birthmarks on my left shoulder. One looks a lot like Greenland, while the one below it is an equal sign. I also have birthmarks on the back of my knee (a bunny with a cloud on top of its head.) The left one. And then there are the birthmarks on my inner thighs. They’re blobs. :D There’s another birthmark (the tiniest one) on my forehead. It’s just a spot, but I hate it.

What kind of environment would you feel most comfortable in: air, water or earth? Air. Or well, earth. I’d like to fly, you know? I’ve always enjoyed airplanes and being in the air. I don’t like water. I’m… Water-phobic. I fell in the pool once when I was 3, and I really can’t forget something like that. I like trees. I love climbing them. That’s why the Earth and the Air are probably the most comfortable for me. =)) I like having a broad expanse of open space around me. Even if well, trees are in the way.
What's your favorite kind of weather? Cloudy. Windy. And sunny. Not too hot, because too much Vitamin D sucks. I love having the feel of the warm sun on my skin and the wind tickling my face. It’s the perfect time to run around, especially if you’re going the direction the wind is going. It makes me feel invincible. It makes me feel fast, and I love that feeling. Where your heart is beating so fast and your side hurts but you just don’t stop because it feels good.
Favorite time of day (or night)? That time of the day when you can already see the moon. That’s awesome. I love pointing it out to people. It’s either that, or the time of the night when the first star starts becoming visible. Wishes are a big thing for me, and the contrasting colors look amazing. The night is awesome, but I don’t always enjoy it. *wince* I get scared easily, so I’d rather be in a place with light.
Are there any traits you think you might like your animagus form to have? I don’t really care about tails, but I’d like markings. Especially around the eyes because those are totally cool. I want to be soft. =)) LOL, I’m particularly sensitive to texture.
What capabilities is it important that your animagus form have? I want to be able to run fast. I want to fly. =)) I want to be loved, because I’m that freaking adorable. I want to be able to climb trees, but that’s just a plus and not so important. I want an animal that can blend in with the sky or the air.

Why would you like to be an animagus? It’s… Cool. I love the feeling that I’m someone else, so what better than to be something else? Best Trait:
*takes a huge breath* I have a deep capacity to care and to love. The best way to explain myself as an INFP: if I love you, I will love and care for you dearly. I will snag you and you will never be safe from me. For me, this is my best trait because I value it far more than any of my other traits and abilities. The ability and desire to love and care is one that took me years to realise about myself. When I let people into my inner circle, I trust them and I care for them intensely. Whenever I see someone I care about getting hurt, or feeling down, it makes me feel bad and even sometimes guilty. I feel a strong need to comfort them, encourage them, and show them copious amounts of affection.
Worst Trait:
I freely admit that I have major issues with conflict. When faced with a direct confrontation, my mind goes into overdrive, and it takes a lot for me to react objectively rather than emotionally. As such, I invariably either freeze when confronted, take a long while to stammer out something reasonable, or just react very emotionally (i.e. cry, shout and rant internally, etc). And because I fear and dislike conflict and harsh criticism, I have a tendency to blame myself for anything and everything.
Do you like to have people around you, or are you more of a loner?
Well, there are times when being alone is good, and there are times when having more people around is a plus. Growing up, for me, was quite lonely, since my two brothers are twins and they did everything together. I've always seen myself as isolated, and I think that really cultivated the introverted personality in me. However, as I moved on to higher education and started coming out of my shell and meeting new people, I've really grown to love having people around me, especially friends and family. Relatively, though, I still am mostly a loner (I talk to myself quite often as a result). But I like having the buzz and laughter of people I know around me. I sincerely hate having loads of people crowd me though, so going to shopping centres filled with strangers isn't my idea of 'having people around me'. So basically, I'm more towards being a loner, but I can be sociable when I'm surrounded by people I love.
Are you more outgoing or shy? Do you think this would change when you are in your animagus form?
I am more shy. I'm afraid of approaching strangers, or people I know only by name/appearance. I'm a chicken when it comes to talking to higher authority as well. But I'm glad to report that I'm outgoing when I'm surrounded by friends and family (see above), and usually am more open to meeting new people when they're around me. I think this would change when I'm in my Animagus form. I'm not afraid to admit that I tend to hide behind personas sometimes, because I can be guarded about my personal life/feelings/details. In my new form, I'd probably be more wary than shy, but definitely more outgoing.

I am 160cm tall thereabouts, medium build, I guess. I have thick dark black hair (yes, dark black) that is currently slightly below my shoulders and a little curly. I'm rather dark-skinned, a tea-coloured brown, or a cardboard-coloured brown, either one. I have dark brown eyes with relatively long eyelashes. When I smile, my eyes go really small. What kind of environment would you feel most comfortable in: air, water or earth?
Tough question. Bear with me here. I would definitely not be comfortable in a muddy place, i.e. when water and earth collide and the place is all… sludgy. I like air because it has wind that makes me feel like I'm flying, which is something which I find absolutely beautiful and freeing. I had a dream when I was flying like Wendy and Peter Pan once when I was a child. It was wonderful, because it felt like nothing could have held me down except for gravity. Then again, I'm also comfortable with water, because it's like flying but underwater. The only problem I have with water is that when it's really deep, it gets dark and dangerous and frightening… I have a fear of unknown deep dark spaces, i.e. deep space or water - if I start imagining too much I hyperventilate and that is not cool at all, I assure you. I like to be on terra firma because it makes me feel grounded (hah, pun!) and safe. So my first choice would be earth, air then water.
What's your favourite kind of weather?
I love rainy days because the rain lulls me to sleep and it's cool. Coming from a country with either summer-hot sun or monsoon-like rain, I'd prefer a cool kind of weather. A simple shower will do, with mild winds. Not a thunder/lightning-storm.
Favourite time of day (or night)?
11pm to 3am. Night, when it's fully dark. I like sunsets, but I simply dislike the time when it's midway between dark and light. I don't like it because it's dark enough to make me worry about my eyes and yet light enough not to switch on the light. Weird me, huh? I like the hours of 11 to 3 when it's silent, and I'm all alone with my thoughts and music and words. And also because that's when I can fall asleep peacefully.
Are there any traits you think you might like your animagus form to have?
I would like to have a coat/feathers in dark/simple colours. I wouldn't like bright colours, because I don't want to attract attention to myself. I would like something unique though, like a special marking or something. My dog has a pretty amazing five dots pigmentation on her back that's like the wu tong in mahjong. I think I would like my animagus form to be intelligent (especially when faced with an attacker) and to be be caring as well, because those two traits are what I strive to be as a person.
What capabilities is it important that your animagus form have?
Perhaps it could be an animal that runs/flies/swims pretty fast? I like the sound of whooshing - wind, water - go past my ears. But other than that, nothing really important :)

Are there any animals that you feel drawn to or have a connection with?
I love dogs. They're so friendly and non-judgemental and fun! And warm, they are. Strangely enough, I've always felt connected to wolves and Huskies. To me, they're primal and elegant and just express raw emotion. They also exude a kind of wisdom and strength that I admire. And dolphins. I like dolphins. Mostly because they are protective, playful and intelligent.
Are there any animals you are afraid of or strongly dislike?
I'm not a huge fan of sharks (sorry!) and other creatures of the deep because I have a fear of being dragged down into deep water and drowning. I dislike worms, as well as cockroaches (they scuttle around with horribly long antennae and legs and they can fly. DNW!).
Why would you like to be an animagus?
I'd love to be an Animagus because it'd mean I'd completed one of the toughest magics and also because I think it'd be pretty fun and cool to literally gain a different perspective of the world around me. Besides, it appeals to me in terms of learning how to see/walk/fly/swim/live as an animal. In addition, I think that communication between species is so amazing. Like Prongs and Padfoot communicating in a different/new language? Brilliant! It would also appeal to me as a humbling process, knowing and understanding that we are all bowed equally before life and death.

Best Trait: I'm a very understanding and fair person. For example, I'll listen to you pour your heart out and not judge you on anything you say. Or I'll give you advice if you think you need it, or help you with studying, and I'll make sure you get the most out of it. Or maybe we had a lunch date and at the last minute you have to bail- but no worries, because I totally understand; you can't be perfect all the time.
Worst Trait: I can be overly fearful of things that are out of my comfort zone. For example, speaking in front of a class or giving a presentation, or going on a high ropes course, or speaking to a guy I like, that sort of thing. I end up freaking out and I panic, and I usually try to do anything I have to in order to get out of the situation. I consider it my worst trait because it's one of the only things I actually dislike about myself... It's the thing I would like to change most.
Do you like to have people around you, or are you more of a loner? Although I do enjoy my quiet time, being alone 24/7 gets boring quickly. I like to have people around me mostly; whether it's my siblings and we're in the same room working on homework together, or if it's my small group of close-knit friends just hanging out, or even if it's my large group of school friends- being surrounded by people makes me feel more comfortable than I would be if I was just standing by myself. But that's not to say that I love being in the spotlight: I loathe it, actually. So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I like being surrounded by people, I just don't enjoy being in the middle of them. If that makes any sense at all.

I do occassionally have my outgoing moments, but it's mostly when I feel that I am in a more superior position than those who are around me; for example, if I meet a new freshman, I'm more likely to act like myself with them than if I were to meet someone new that's my own age. Given this, I do believe that I would become more outgoing in my animagus form. Not only would I not resemble my physical self (and therefore I wouldn't have to worry about doing something that would embarass mein front of my friends), but I think I'd also be in a kind of "superior" position as an animal. I'd have abilities that my human self would not, so therefore I'd be more willing be outgoing and how my true personality.

What kind of environment would you feel most comfortable in: air, water or earth? Probably a mixture between earth and air; because, while I do love the water, I'm a horribe swimmer, and get seasick if the water gets too rocky. I say a mixture of both air and earth because I really adore everything about the sky, but I'm more comfortable on land. The sky holds the stars, the sun, the planets, asteroids, meteors, clouds, and birds- all things that have a special place in my heart. I love the feel of it too; my favorite time of day is when it's windy or breezy outside, and I love when I go out into the country and the air actually smells fresh. On the other hand, I'm kind of afraid of heights (I learned this the hard way when taking Adventure Ed this semester...). So I'm not sure how practical that would be, despite my otherwise solid love for the air and sky. Then, there's earth. I've never felt particularly attracted to it, but I do know that I am most comfortable in it. I'm a dreamer, but I like to keep my feet on the ground, just in case. It's like a comfort object to me. You know, like that stuffed animal that you used to fall asleep with? That's what earth is for me. It keeps me grounded, in reality. So that's why I say both air and earth. Both elements are in me.
What's your favourite kind of weather? Windy or breezy days, as mentioned above. It's refreshing, and I love the bite you feel when the wind whips your face. I also love the rain. Not like thunderstorm rain, just a drizzle or something (with some wind of course). That's my favorite kind of weather!
Favourite time of day (or night)? I love the nighttime, when there are little or no clouds and the stars are out and shining brightly. It's calming and comforting to me, because I like to think about what else is out there, and what our purpose on Earth really is. I'm not quite sure how that kind of thinking ends up calming me down, but it does. Plus, there aren't usually any trains during the night (I live in a train NIGHTMARE of a place). So that adds to the peaceful feel that I love about the night.
Are there any traits you think you might like your animagus form to have? This is kind of weird, but I'd like to not be just, like, skin. Like those Siamese cats, who have no fur? That's what I mean. I'd like to have something on me. Whether it be fur, feathers, scales, whatever you think fits best- just make sure I'm not naked, haha!
What capabilities is it important that your animagus form have? I don't know if this counts, but something fairly intelligent? It doesn't have to be, for example, monkey-intelligent. But intelligent for the type of animal it is in it's environment. In other words, I'd like to not be on the bottom of the food chain...
Are there any traits or capabilities which you absolutely do not want? Nothing too slow. I interpret my animagus form as being a way for me to move around more quickly than usual, or with more ease, and I think something slow would obviously negate that wish.
Are there any animals that you feel drawn to or have a connection with? I've always had a thing for butterflys. I think my love for them started when a monarch landed on me at one of my brother's baseball games. Since then, I've collected two different butterfly necklaces, a butterfly ring, and a butterfly t-shirt. (All of which were gifts; I actually didn't realize till early last year that I'd started a mini-collection!) I also love to just stop and watch them sometimes. They seem like such peaceful creatures, and they're gorgeous. ♥ They also have lovely symbolism in different culture. My favorite is the Japanese belief that butterflys are the personification of a person's soul. I think that's such a beautiful notion.
Are there any animals you are afraid of or strongly dislike? Any kind of creepy-crawly bugs or insects, especially spiders (and scorpions, as an extention). Bugs like centipedes, millipedes, worms, other gross bugs that I probably don't even know the name of, that sort of thing. Bleh.
Why would you like to be an animagus? For one, I love animals. And I think it would be pretty kick-ass to be able to turn into one. Plus, the ability is very practical, and I could see myself using it regularly to help myself or others. Plus, one of my old teachers got me into totems when I took her class; she always talked about having the eagle as one of her totems, and I've always wanted to know what mine would be. I kind of see being an animagus as an extension of that, so this is like that wish being granted!

Best Trait: I think my best trait is my curiosity. I love learning about the world and other people, and I find it difficult not to look at things from as many sides as possible. My curiosity helps me not only absorb information I need to be successful but also, I feel, leads me to weird but fun interests that make me unique.
Worst Trait: Laziness, laziness, laziness. If there’s a way around spending time on something, I will use it unless it’s cheating (I have a terrible guilt complex when it comes to that sort of thing). I procrastinate like a maniac, though more often than not I’ll get things in on time. I guess my problem is that I want to turn things in and do my work honestly (except for Sparknotes-I make an exception for Sparknotes because books are long and I hate being forced to read), but I don’t want to do the actual work.
Do you like to have people around you, or are you more of a loner? I do like to have people around, but only for so long. I can happily spend a whole day with people as long as I get at least an hour or so alone, otherwise I get tired out. People are fun and exciting and wonderful, but I have to have some time alone with my thoughts and my little brain-worlds.
Are you more outgoing or shy? Do you think this would change when you are in your animagus form? Honestly, it depends on who I’m around. If people seem welcoming, I’m pretty darn outgoing. However, if I’m worried that people are going to judge me, I’m still outgoing, but I’m less myself. I dunno. I feel shy in those situations, but I don’t think that’s the impression I give people. I just act more, you know, normal, which is kind of uncomfortable for me. It’s like when you first start ice skating and you do that awkward shuffling thing-it gets you by, but it doesn’t feel right and you probably look silly.

I’m 5’0, medium build, small shoulders, pale skin with that lovely Irish rosy tint that looks hilarious when I laugh too hard. My hair is light brown and curly and goes a little past my shoulders. My face is kind of round (though my jaw’s not too round itself-kind of, but not, like, ovular). Cheekbones aren’t too prominent, kind of a round nose, big eyes. My eyes are actually my favorite physical feature. I have fairly long eyelashes, and my eyes are a cool shade of green around the very edge, blue-green in the center, and have a yellow ring around the pupil. It’s fun. Also, I wear glasses, if that matters. Oh, and teeth are kinda square.
What kind of environment would you feel most comfortable in: air, water or earth? Earth, definitely. While I absolutely love the water, it’s kind of inconsistent. I only really like the ocean, and only when I’m on a boat, playing in the waves, or snorkeling. I’m kind of weird about pools, and I think lakes are really gross. I just plain don’t like air. I’m terrified of heights, I hate wind, and I’m constantly clinging to my seat and praying when I’m in airplanes. Earth, however, is stable, diverse, and beautiful in so many different ways. It has trees and mountains and deserts and pretty much everything we live with. It’s comfortable.
What's your favourite kind of weather? I think I’m going to have to say when it gets cold before and during the holidays. It just puts me in a good mood, and I love getting to wear warmer clothes (I’m from Southern California-60° is cold for us). Even without the holidays, it’s just nice to have some variety in the weather without it being too uncomfortable. I do like warm days, but they just make me wish it was summer, except for when it’s summer and I’m just kind of meh about it because it’s summer and the weather’s doing what it’s supposed to do.
Favourite time of day (or night)? Right after my family goes to bed and I have the house all to myself. I get to play music or read weird things or giggle to myself, and I’m by myself until I get up the next morning, so I have a ton of time to just think or whatever. It’s when I feel most like me.

What capabilities is it important that your animagus form have? I think I’d like to be kind of speedy. And able to smell things better. And see in the dark (not necessarily nocturnal, but, you know, like dogs or deer can. The glowy eye thing).

Best Trait: Obsessiveness. I get really, really into things, to the point where I reject everything else. This lets me make a lot of progress on certain things very quickly--skills, fandoms, random areas of interest. I absorb information, I make very quick progress, and I improve on related skills. I can hyperfocus on one thing for ridiculous amounts of time.
Worst Trait: Obsessiveness. I get really, really into things, to the point where I reject everything else. I don't eat for longer than I should, I snap at people, I get overprotective of my project, I have difficulty stopping and participating in regular, day-to-day activities... It becomes a bit of an issue.
Do you like to have people around you, or are you more of a loner?
It depends. I like to be with small groups of people, preferably people I know well, which means they have similar interests and can understand my sense of humor, which I think can sometimes be a bit too deadpan for some. I do not generally like large groups of people that I do not know. (At parties and dances, for example, which I avoid if I can help it.) I get very angry at people who move slowly, and the noise is totally off-putting, and I can’t say I’m a fan of being so close to so many people. And when I have to settle into a new situation, I do like having one other person I know with me, for reassurance, because I get totally freaked out when I don't know where I'm supposed to be...
Anyway, small groups are fine by me, but I do need long periods of time alone, during which I hate to be spoken to in general. Although even in small groups of people I know, I tend to have to repeat myself several times in order to be heard.

More shy, I think. It depends on the situation, I suppose, but I'm usually not one (at least in real life) to jump right into things socially, because that rarely ends well. I have trouble looking people in the eyes, and I'm always missing something. But really, it varies. Sometimes without much of a reason.
I think in my animagus form, it would be much the same. I'd probably be even less outgoing, because I wouldn't want to attract too much attention. Usually, when a wild animal approaches someone, (particularly if it's nocturnal) it's not a particularly good sign.

I'm a bit on the taller side of average, (a bit above 5'7'',) and about average weight. My eyes are dark brown. My hair is dark brown, kind of curly, kind of wavy, kind of a mess. I mean, if I brush it, it just goes pffffffft! And if I don't, it lies down properly, but it tangles more. And it gets everywhere. Picture River Tam's hair, but slightly darker and bigger/messier. I generally look slightly disheveled, and, so I'm told, rather nervous.
What kind of environment would you feel most comfortable in: air, water or earth?
I don't know. I suppose air or earth. I absolutely hate flying on a plane, but for reasons that would not be applicable to a bird--I have always felt like I should be able to fly.
Water would just be uncomfortable for me. Plus, a water option could be pretty impractical--I mean, very practical for certain situations, but then the other ninety percent of the time, you're kind of stuck without a use for this power you've spent so long working on.
An earthbound animal would also make a lot of sense, without being a particularly disturbing experience.
What's your favourite kind of weather?
I like it when it's cold and cloudy and rainy. Not necessarily thunder and lightning, partially because the noise is a bit off-putting, and partially because I'm always afraid I'll be struck. I am not afraid of thunder, because thunder, while sometimes slightly disconcerting simply because it is a Loud Noise, can not hurt me. Lightning can. I always get disappointed when the sun comes out and everything gets sticky. Basically, I seem to prefer the kind of weather that everyone else thinks is really crappy. If I were forced to choose between intense heat and intense cold, I would have to pick the latter.
Favourite time of day (or night)?
I hate hate hate mornings. The 11-12 AM/PM range is okay, because it's not so early that you have to wake up, but it's not so late that you can't do anything, either. But mornings are terrible times for me.
I also like ungodly predawn hours when everyone else is asleep. My fellow denizens of Clawchat can attest to this. There's just something really comfortable about it for me. Time lasts longer, and I don't have to worry about being bothered. It's hardly healthy, but I like it.
Are there any traits you think you might like your animagus form to have?
Just something practical for a variety of environments might be nice. Polar bears are not well suited to milder climates, and I wouldn't like to be something that can't leave the water.
What capabilities is it important that your animagus form have?
I've always felt like I should be able to fly. That’s a big one. And at the very least, I would appreciate something with some physical advantage over a human, and some speed wouldn’t be bad, though it’s not necessarily a priority. It would also be nice to have something more or less adaptable, or at least practical for what one might consider an “average” climate--i.e. not something suited exclusively to intense heat or cold, which wouldn’t be very sensible. Also, if it isn’t something widely preyed upon or hunted (by humans or other creatures,) that would be a nice plus.
Are there any traits or capabilities which you absolutely do not want?
I'd rather not be something water-bound. If it can walk and swim, that's fine, but nothing that lives in the water, just because that's really impractical, and being stuck in the open water could prove a bit nightmarish for me.
Are there any animals that you feel drawn to or have a connection with?
I am definitely a dog person. Dogs and I get along quite well. I know their body language far better than I know human body language. I know way too much about them, and I still don't know enough. Also rats. I've had a few as pets, and they are far more awesome than even JKR lets on.
Other than that, I dunno. I haven't had too much experience with other animals, though I'd love to try it.
Are there any animals you are afraid of or strongly dislike?
I'm still working on understanding cats. (I’m allergic to them, which means I can’t get close enough to learn to understand them, because I always have to be very cautious around them.)
Why would you like to be an animagus? It would be rather convenient for travel. And I've always been intrigued with the idea. Also, I would quite like to be able to fly.
