Why do you care so much about what genre the bands you like are in?
Answer: Because without genres, you wouldn't be able to say "Hey can you reccomend me some emo/hardcore/metal?" You wouldn't be able to get into the genre of the band you like into because you wouldn't know what genre it is in. That my friend, is why it is important. Genres are a big fucking help, please do not start shit with genres!
