Sticky Canon: Spells

My theory on magic in the Fire Emblem world. So far it's just Path of Radiance but if other players join, I'll add the other games.

Facts

1. Magic comes from books.
2. You must chant something from the books, presumably spells or prayers. Alternatively, you can use a staff, which according to some art has squiggles all over it (blessings?).
3. Books and staffs can apparently break
4. Two types of magic: elemental and Light. No dark, however it is assumed by many that elemental magic is the derivative of dark or wild magic.
5. Light and elemental magic have no effect on each other
6. Among elemental magic though: wind>thunder>fire>wind
7. Three classes of magic users: clerics, priests, and mages
8. Clerics and priests can use staffs and then light magic after promotion
9. Mages can use elemental magic, then also staff after promotion

So what's available to Soren?

Head!Canon

1. There is a spell for each type of magic and there is a prayer for each light magic
2. The language used for elemental magic I borrowed from Dragonlance. The light magic I used latin prayers. Because I can.
3. I'm tossing the books breaking right out the window. Books/staves are used as channeling things. Books/staves can become worn. If the mage/cleric/priest had the foresight to copy it, or fix it, then all is well and good. If not, bad luck.
