Potbelly Cast and Crew
Episode 22: The Play Goes On
So, I work at a little innocent sandwhich shop called Potbelly at Reston Town Center. We are store number 200! Although it's just a sandwhich shop and everyone pretends to hate working there, we all have a mysterious and unexplainable fanboy-ism. We have our own Potbelly RTC Facebook group, and many others that work there now chill regularly. It's crazy though, because the reason I label us as a "Cast and Crew" is because our innocent little sandwhich shop has crazy drama; and has basically turned into a few one act plays. This is no doubt due to the number of high school girls that work there. It has finally ended, so I'm here to tell the storys as well as other random happenings and my relationship with the cast. First, I'll introduce you to the main players, then continue with the story.

John R. - Our General Manager. Kinda chubby guy, I'd put him in his late-twenty's to mid-thirties. One of the nicest GM's ever. He is truely obessessed with the store and likes making his workers happy. He kinda kisses certain peoples ass'es, like Mike and Jesiah. Store number 200 and his girlfriend are the only things he cares about.
Jesiah - A shift lead. He's a 22 year old with a beard that makes him look 30+. John really likes him, and treats him like a manager. He hardly does anything to help and is quite annoying. He is responcible for the hireing of most of the highschool girls and hits on them all like crazy; which is weird because he is also really religious. Obsessed with customer satisfaction.
Me- One of the Original 3. Pretty chill and knows almost everyone that works there pretty well. Ends up being the middleman for a lot of peoples problems and somehow I always know the gossip. I had the nickname "Applesauce" for the first week I worked there.
Alicia- One of the Original 3. Probably my best friend there. 21 years old. But picture this: she's your standard, annoying, loud black girl. She does online ordering and complains about everyone who slacks off, dumb customers and everyother problem she has with the people that work there. Often gets called on to do things because she's the loudest.
Mike- A guy that also works for free at a firehouse. You either love him or hate him. He's really outspoken and doesn't seem to think before he speaks. Always talking about wanting to kick someones ass or wanting to set things on fire so he can put them out. Although he's the same age as me, he also hits on all the highschool chicks and came off as a creeper like Jesiah. However, he seems to have settled down with one, Erica.
Erica S.- One of the more popular highschoolers that work at Potbelly, She created the facebook group. She's seen me a lot but never worked with me before. Then, when I did work with her, she was randomly really excited to see me and did nothing but tell me all the gossip she knew, and about whats happening with her and Mike. Wrote on my facebook wall all excited about working with me. Nice, but obviously your standard highschooler.
Elise- Ugh. Thank god the only time I've ever worked with her was training week. 15 years old, red hair, and extremely annoying and ditzy. Likes to start drama. I haven't seen in her in a while so she might have quit, which would be nice.
Matt- Manager. A really awesome dude who liked Potbelly a lot. He was my favorite. However, he wasn't one of John's favorites and they always mistreated him. Didn't show up for work one morning he was supposed to open with me, so John came and let us in. Haven't seen him since.
Rudy- Really cool spanish guy. Is an excellent worker and pretty much everyone loves him. He's helped me learn some spanish!
Story
It all started with Mike. He started hitting on all the highschool girls as well as Jesiah, and rumors were flying around about them. Mike went to the movies with some of the girls, and ended up kissing Elise. Then, she told him she was 15, and he backed up and was like "whoa, nevermind, this can't happen." Elise then started texting and telling all the other girls that he was a bastard and just hits on any girl he can. Meanwhile, Mike and Alicia were fighting all the time due to there personalities clashing. John thought he could fix the problem buy making them work together, but it just made things worse. Mike then settled on Erica, and she kinda liked him back. The only thing was, stories we're flying around that Jesiah liked her too. Erica tells me Jesiah pulled her to the back one day and said "You know that Mike is hitting on all of the girls right? He kinda plays around, I'm just telling you because I don't want you to get hurt." And I was thinking "This guy is 22 years old right?" Mike was all worried and kept texting her and telling me he was going to beat Jesiahs ass down. I knew he was all threat and no action, so I didn't pay much attention too it. Then another worker there, Jammal, told Mike he had private info and told him to "chill out on the situation or bad things were going to happen." Unknowing to anyone until later, Rudy had threatened to quit because he couldn't stand Mikes attitude. Alicia and Mike got into a fight because he was rushing her to make bags for a takeout order. Then this nice kid named Chris told him to calm down since the order didn't need to be finished for another 20 minutes. Mike cussed back at him. Alicia and I tried to talk to someone about it, but of course no one does anything. John liked Mike anyway, and pretty much just show up for work and leave whenever he wanted just because he was a firefighter. Mike had a party I decided not to go to, and he and Erica finally hooked up there. Matt was gone by this point and replaced by a new manager named Chris. My brother had some connections so I tried really hard to find out why he just dissapreared one day. All I got were rumors that he left because he was tired of getting mistreated, so I told everyone what I heard. We were all really sad to see him go. Finally, things have seemed to calm down. Erica said the other day "I know you said he talks about me a lot, and I kinda did spend the night with him last night, but I still don't know if this is what I want." I asked, "What does that even mean?" and she replied "Well, he really wants to get with me and I really like him I think, but I don't want to get too involved." "What's wrong with a summer romance?" "Nothing!" she said. "But you can have one of those without a title. Mike told me to think about it again today so I'm supposed to be here thinking about it, but I really don't want it to be official." So I'm not sure if she's embarrested of him or what. But when he's tired of waiting and quirks out on her, I'm sure the drama will return again. Also, this chubby black guy named Darron I'm tight with is trying to get with this chick we also work with named Olivia. She doesn't really like him though, so I hope he doesn't press her too hard and starts even more stuff!
My Relationship with the Crew
Well, it's interestesting, but a lot of the high school girls there really like me. I feel like there the ones hitting on me all the time. I don't know what I'm doing to make them this way, I'm just bored during downtime so I ask them standard questions like "What school do you go to?" and "What sports do you play?" and the like. Next thing I know there opening up all this gossip to me and writing my name in all caps on facebook, wanting to work with me again. Maybe I just look good in a hat. And while this is all very flattering, it's mostly just really really annoying. I'm not interested in any of them, but too nice to not write back "hey!" on FB. And while some of them are chill, I can't stand most of them because they are way too highschool. So all of them just need to back off! XD Alicia is my gurrrl. We always go on brake together so she can vent about all the people shes made at, as well as talking about all the crazy black girl things she does like party, also talk shit about all the people that work at Potbelly we don't like, and keeps me up to date on how her boyfriend is. Rudy and Alex are tight. Both spanish and crazy, they always teach me new words and talk to me about the culture. Rudy also always sings spanish songs hilariously badly while working. Sam is cool, he is the 3rd of the original 3, but since he's worked at other stores he thinks he's the best sometimes. Everyone else is nice, or cool, etc. I hate to admit it, but I actually like my job!
