For velvetwhip

Prompt: Profiler - Jack/Sam - Danger

Samantha looked up at Bailey, her face it's usual studied expression of innocence. She only felt a moment of hesitation as she slipped on the mask. Although she'd perfected it a long time ago under Jack's tutelage, one could never be too careful. Sometimes she marveled at how readily someone so bright could be so throughly duped. But then she'd learned a long time ago that people were often blind to what was right beneath their noses. Tom had never caught on and they'd shared a bed, so how could her boss possibly realize who she really was.

His expression as he met her gaze was the usual mixture of fatherly concern with a hint of lust that he usually looked at her with and she breathed a sigh of relief. Working for the FBI and hunting the very man she killed alongside with was risky to say the least. But the adrenaline rush of being with Jack while constantly flirting with the danger of exposure was intoxicating. Later when she told Jack how well she'd done, he would be so proud of her she thought happily and struggled to keep her mask in place. Maybe they were playing with fire. But what a lovely way to burn...
