Off to a good start

This is the first year that I started writing so early for NaNoWriMo. I was in the online chat and started writing at midnight. I only wrote about 250 words before I had to get some sleep, but I made a start. I wrote another 1750 after I got up.

The kickoff party went well. We had a great turnout and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. The Sunday meetup was a little quiet, but that was too be expected because people are making a start on their novels.

I managed to write 2000 on Sunday, and may do the same tonight. Or maybe I'll start slacking off already! I have two evening write-ins during the week, and I know that I can get lots of writing done at those events.

I'm so excited! I will be going to San Francisco for the write-a-thon on November 15th. I'm also taking some extra days and will be going sightseeing with a friend of mine. Perhaps not the smartest thing to do in the middle of November, but I will be writing for almost 5 hours on Saturday night, so I think I can get ahead on my novel - or catch up, if I'm behind. Also, I'll have my evenings to myself, so I can get some writing done then as well. I'm so looking forward to this vacation.

But now... back to figuring out where my novel is going.
