UW

Just got back from Seattle. The weather was spectacular. I find it amusing that I went from drab, rainy California to cloudless, sunny Seattle.

UW is lovely. I really liked the architecture and the style of the buildings, even though they were a bit outdated on the inside. All the people I talked to were very enthusiastic about the place and said that they really enjoyed it despite all of the rain. Apparently the food on campus is excellent as well, which is always a plus. Quite enjoyed the area surrounding the UW...there are so many little shops and cafes and things of that nature...plus a giant Trader Joe's. Love.

Wandered around that area of town with my mother and found a few restaurants that looked intriguing. Finally decided on Portage Bay Cafe for lunch (they serve only organic food and every Saturday they only serve breakfast all day...I love it.) and Mamma Melina's Italian restaurant for dinner. The waiters there were all hilarious. Apparently they are all required to wear white collared shirts with the top three buttons open to show chest hair and a gold chain necklace...hilarious. While eating, my mother and I talked to this ridiculously nice older couple sitting next to us. They each gave me their business cards and told me to call them up if I decided to come to the UW and wanted a tour of the city or anything. So cute! I heart.

Was hoping after this trip I'd be sure if I wanted to go to UW next year, but I don't. Guess I'll just see how I feel about it after I find out where else I've been accepted (assuming any other colleges are retarded enough to accept me). Oh well. It was fun getting out of GB for a few days.
