We definitely have at least one shinigami hanging around, but there are so many weird people around here, I'm not even sure how notable that is anymore.

What exactly is your definition of 'shinigami'? It may be a bit different from the stories I've read.

The one I know is like... The Grim Reaper. Death in person. I don't know if there more where I'm from besides him and his kid, though.

Partly genetics, partly chance, as far as I know. Some people are just born with the ability to turn into weapons.

Interesting... Exactly what weapon are you capable of transforming into?

A scythe, but some people can turn into swords and guns and stuff like that

And... people don't really have a problem with this where you come from?

Sort of mixed reactions, I guess, but people seem to be okay with it most of the time. Weapons get paired up with technicians and set to a school that teaches you to be a good egg, so it's not like weapons cause problems for normal people.
