- A group of women protested outside of yesterday's SmackDown! brand house show, and the story was picked up by WCAX TV in Burlington, VT. Their protest was over the fact that wrestling shows "desensitize children to violence, and promote bullying and violence against women".

Now, whether or not you hate wrestling or like it, this doesn't just affect that one thing. These Tipper Gore influenced, walking signboards protest stuff from wrestling, to violent video games, to music and musicians, it's all the same thing.

And what does all this hippie bullshit get them? Nothing. They stand around, sometimes in the crappiest of weather, with a bunch of sanctimonious badly-written signs to protest anything they think is wrong, and does anybody listen? No! The only ones who do anything about it are people like me who comment on how insanely retarded it all is! None of their demands are ever met, and the reason is simple: A bunch of sign-waving lunatics standing in the street, freezing half to death resemble nothing of an organized faction of society.

The only time they ever get anything accomplished is when they have some big-wig celebrity or government aquiantance with actual name power to guide them and do the job for them. The fact is, which is going to hold up stronger: A billion dollar company such as World Wrestling Entertainment, or a group of ten or twelve women with pieces of cheap cardboard they got from sewing cereal boxes together, with a few scribbles that are supposed to indicate some sort of strong feeling? It's really a no-brainer people. Turn the hose on those banchees and they'll flee in ten seconds.

Now, I'm not saying it's bad to have an opinion. It's not. But there's opinion, and there's being a psycho. In a lot of cases of protesting, such as this one, the protesters are doing so "for the children". Okay, first things first. Shouldn't you be at home taking care of your children now? Second of all, if you don't want your children to watch this stuff, don't let them! Be a parent. Stop letting TV do the parenting for you, as you're more than likely doing right this second by being at this ridiculous protest event, and leaving them at home. Explain to your children that what they see on television is not real, and should not be mimicked as such. How hard is it to tell your kid not to smash some other kids skull with a steel chair? Not too damn hard; unless you're fifty miles away at a protest rally, speaking your voice loud and clear, to no one who really cares.
