your mischief, my teasing
kyuhyun x zhou mi
pg-13
a/n: Happy Birthday Ka! This is random and ridiculous and pointless. But enjoy it anyways? I love you ♥~

When Zhou Mi first hears about the Gee performance (from Jonghyun, who hears it from Key who hears it from Sulli who hears it from Krystal who hears it from Jessica who laughs uproariously, and yet, somehow daintily, behind her hand, when Heechul tells her), the first thing he does is call Kyuhyun, simply to laugh. He can’t even gather enough free breath to ask Kyuhyun what SNSD member he got, too busy gasping to even form a coherent sentence.

“Oh great, you heard,” Kyuhyun says flatly, after the half a minute it takes for him to work out why exactly Zhou Mi is in near-hysterical tears of laughter over the phone. He hangs up a heartbeat later.

Six minutes later he calls back, probably to attempt a proper conversation or state his defense. Zhou Mi, however, is still too busy laughing to hear anything Kyuhyun says. Kyuhyun hangs up on him a second time, with an annoyed huff. Zhou Mi, in his glee, can’t bring himself to feel offended.

Zhou Mi is there the day they give Kyuhyun his Gee costume, colored skinny jeans, wig and all.

Somewhere in the background Eunhyuk is shrieking as Sungmin tackles him, and Leeteuk is yelling at Siwon to come out of the dressing room, because really, it can’t be that bad. Hangeng’s attempting to persuade him as well, between his snorts of laughter. Heechul, standing next to them, has decided he doesn’t really care about Siwon’s masculinity crisis, and has taken to bitching to Kibum over the phone, Donghae hanging over his shoulder to add his own commentary. In the middle of all the chaos, Kyuhyun stands, silent, staring down at his costume in distaste like it is the sole reason Kibum is currently kicking his ass in Starcraft. Zhou Mi has to leave the room for a minute to hide his snickers.

Once he thinks he’s finally got his laughter under control, he heads back in, nearly getting his face taken off by a book Yesung hurls at a snickering Ryeowook, standing a good five feet from the door. Zhou Mi shakes his head, not going to question Yesung’s aim, and slowly stands up, rolling his shoulders a little to try and ease the pain from his sudden crouch. He catches sight of Kyuhyun though, standing in front of the mirror trying to puzzle out the long hair of his wig, and nearly ends up back on the floor, clutching his stomach. He stumbles his way over, trying to school his face into something that isn’t a ridiculously amused smile, though, by the way Kyuhyun is glaring at him in the mirror, he’s failing rather epically.

“Here,” he says, reaching up to rearrange the hair. Kyuhyun glowers up at him from beneath his new bangs, defiant, daring him to laugh. He’s got his arms crossed against his chest and he looks so childish that Zhou Mi can’t help his fond smile, tugging lightly at the wig.

“Shut up, shut up,” Kyuhyun shrieks, spinning around, face flushed in annoyance and embarrassment. He flings out his arms to whack Zhou Mi, flustered. Zhou Mi ducks, now openly laughing, dogging Kyuhyun’s elbows.

“These are a terrible color,” he says when he’s finally got Kyuhyun pinned up against the wall, arms locked at his sides. He tugs at the belt loops of Kyuhyun’s pants just a little, pulling Kyuhyun closer and Kyuhyun squirms, long hair falling into his eyes. His face is red again, and Zhou Mi thinks that sometimes Kyuhyun makes it too easy for him. He still finds it a little hard to believe that Kyuhyun, who loves to tease, can be so easily reduced to a flustered puddle of awkward boy when he’s the one embarrassed.

“I’m the magnae,” Kyuhyun says suddenly, leveling his chin, looking determined. His back is still to the wall though, so Zhou Mi’s pretty sure he’s got nothing to worry about. “Kangin will beat you up if I tell him you are molesting me,” Kyuhyun continues and Zhou Mi lets out a laugh.

“Henry’s magnae now. Also, I’m pretty sure you’ve been telling them you can take care of yourself for years,” Zhou Mi counters, leaning in closer so they are at the same eye level. “Besides, I’d be doing them a service, getting you out of these horrible pants.” He punctuates the remark with another tug at Kyuhyun’s belt loops, smiling wickedly.

He doesn’t manage to avoid Kyuhyun’s elbow this time, straight into his windpipe.

“I’d even let you call me Oppa,” he adds, still breathless, with grave eyes, even if he’s half doubled over. It takes Siwon, Kangin and Shindong to get Kyuhyun off him after he tackles him to the floor.

Despite the pain in his lower back he thinks it is all rather worth it, just for the sight of Kyuhyun’s wig in disarray and chest heaving, when they finally pull him away, the very ends of his lips curled up into that mischievous little smile Zhou Mi will never admit he adores.

Zhou Mi owes Hangeng a week’s worth of dinners for this, he decides when he walks into the practice room, after a rather urgent text from him, to find half of Super Junior stumbling around in heels.

“Heechul wanted to see if they could pull off the dance in heels,” Hangeng explains to him happily in Mandarin, taking delight in his fellow members’ misfortune. He cackles as Siwon stumbles into Sungmin, who, looking utterly horrified, valiantly tries to keep both Siwon and him standing, as he wobbles dangerously in his own heels. Heechul watches on, expression full of distaste, as Jessica and Tiffany stand behind him, laughing openly at Super Junior’s fail.

It’s all rather horrifyingly hilarious, and he’s so busy watching the catastrophe unfold that he doesn’t even notice Kyuhyun five feet from him, bent over fiddling with the ridiculous straps of his shoes, right away.

“Kui Xian?” He says, leaning over and nearly gets his head knocked off when Kyuhyun shoots up, startled, stumbling back. Zhou Mi catches his wrist before he has the chance to kill himself, and gives an apologetic smile to Heechul who just rolls his eyes at the two of them and deliberately turns away. Zhou Mi grins to himself, and turns back to Kyuhyun.

“You can let go now,” Kyuhyun informs him once he has Zhou Mi’s attention again, looking pointedly at Zhou Mi’s fingers wrapped around his wrist. Zhou Mi tugs it instead, so that Kyuhyun’s stumbling forward, hands coming up quickly to catch himself on Zhou Mi’s chest. “I hate you,” he mumbles into the fabric of Zhou Mi’s shirt and Zhou Mi hums in response.

“Seasoning, stop manhandling my minions!” Heechul cries from elsewhere before Zhou Mi has a chance to say something, and then Kyuhyun is hurriedly disentangling himself from Zhou Mi as everyone looks their way. Zhou Mi watches him make his way shakily back to the group of boys in the center of the room, and is a little horrified to find he’s attracted to the combination of Kyuhyun’s ratty sweatpants and heels, though not very surprised.

Zhou Mi amuses himself watching the train wreck that is their practice, before Heechul finally calls break, stalking over to collapse besides Tiffany, a mess of giggles on the floor. Kyuhyun heads back to his bag sitting beside Zhou Mi, pulling out his water bottle.

“Kyuhyun,” Donghae calls out, bounding over unsteadily. It’s something they all realize, in hindsight, is a very very bad idea. Donghae’s heels catch on someone’s bag and then he’s colliding, high-speed, with Kyuhyun, and like dominos they go down, Donghae, Kyuhyun, Hangeng and finally Zhou Mi.

Zhou Mi groans, wiggling out of the pile in an attempt to remove the elbow in his spleen and the water bottle imprinted into his spine.

“Fucking hell,” Kyuhyun mumbles from the floor beside him, before flipping over and onto Zhou Mi. He buries his nose into the curve of Zhou Mi’s neck, whimpering a little bit pathetically, not that he’d ever admit to it. Zhou Mi lets his arm curve around Kyuhyun’s waist, keeping him in place, still feeling a little too winded.

“Right, so that is a no on the heels,” Heechul says from above them, and Zhou Mi blinks his eyes open in time to watch Heechul stalk off in his own set of shoes. Zhou Mi doesn’t want to know why Heechul’s so accomplished at walking in heels.

Instead he focuses on the way Kyuhyun curls a little further into him, breath slowing as Heechul calls end of practice. He closes his eyes, content, and mentally offers Hangeng two weeks’ worth of meals for this.

“Your wig is ridiculous,” are the first words out of Zhou Mi’s mouth when he pulls Kyuhyun out of the mass of boys in skinny jeans, stumbling off the stage. Kyuhyun huffs.

“Shut up, you love me like this,” Kyuhyun says, pressing close, taking a moment to be weak and exhausted, knowing Zhou Mi will keep him standing. Zhou Mi hides his smile in Kyuhyun’s hair. It’s not a lie, but Zhou Mi won’t ever tell, won’t ever say how he secretly loves every inch of the awkward, silly boy Kyuhyun is, every time he puts on those stupid, tragically colored jeans.

“I’d have preferred a skirt,” he replies instead, and can’t quite dodge Kyuhyun’s punch.

“Yah, go be cute somewhere else,” Heechul shouts, pushing between them on the way to the dressing room. Zhou Mi calls out an apology after him as Kyuhyun looks on, disgruntled.

“C’mon, I need to change,” Kyuhyun tells him, trailing after Heechul, towards the dressing room. He gets four steps before Zhou Mi’s caught up with him again, slinging an arm around his shoulders.

“Does this mean I get to help you out of those pants after all?” He asks, and laughs long and loud as Kyuhyun makes an annoyed growl in the back of his throat, spinning to face Zhou Mi fully. Zhou Mi darts in for a quick, laughter-flavored kiss, before Kyuhyun can open his mouth. When he pulls back, Kyuhyun is staring up at him, annoyed, but he’s not arguing.

Zhou Mi takes that as a yes.
