Potato Farls!
I first encountered potato farls sitting on my breakfast plate in a B&B in Belfast on July 30 1996. Since then I hadn't run across them again anywhere else, and I've longed for the taste many a time. Fortunately yesterday was a shopping trip, and in amongst all the various and sundry breads on the shelf there were, indeed, farls to be found. My visit to Ireland is now complete, and I can rest a happy man.
