I LOVE greyhounds. They apparently are often terrific companions. And they deserve great homes, too!

You get that do-gooder feeling as an added bonus.

I'm not really a dog person, but you're right -- I look in their eyes & become a puddle of goo, especially the one on the far right. That dog is especially adorable.

It's such a shame what they have to go through, but they never seem to let that keep them down. You better still have a LJ three-to-five years down the road, so you can share pictures. ;)

Thanks for sharing this one; it brightened my day! :D

She set herself, and bulleted out across that meadow - smoked past Sgt & Sam like they were standing still. They faltered to a stop, visibly astonished. “I'd never seen a living thing go that fast in my life” - she crossed a hundred yards of cow pasture in the time it took you to read those twelve words. Built like a missile and travelled like one ( ... )

Yes, I'd certainly like to give him or her the space to run free - or bolt free. Good story. :)

I've heard their temperament is much like cats, to which I am more accustomed than jumpy dogs.

Why does your love of Scottishness fail you when it comes to dogs? Shelties, like mine Toffee, are the way to go. (Yes this is cheap trick to out- "aww" you)

I suppose history and refinement do not appeal to you?
