I'm not really a dog person, but you're right -- I look in their eyes & become a puddle of goo, especially the one on the far right. That dog is especially adorable.
It's such a shame what they have to go through, but they never seem to let that keep them down. You better still have a LJ three-to-five years down the road, so you can share pictures. ;)
Thanks for sharing this one; it brightened my day! :D
I had the privilege of housesitting "Amy," a rescue greyhound belonging to a friend. She was sweet and gentle and very quiet - and the weirdest looking piece of biological machinery I'd ever seen. Still had racing tattoos on her ears, and her teeth were ruined by the high-sugar high-protein high-everything diet they give them. A biomechanoid, a living machine designed for one purpose - but a very good dog also.
One day I took her out to a pasture with Sam and Sergeant, my two guys. They went galloping happily out across the field as they do - and I saw Amy get the idea: Dogs are running. She set herself, and bulleted out across that meadow - smoked past Sgt & Sam like they were standing still. They faltered to a stop, visibly astonished. “I'd never seen a living thing go that fast in my life” - she crossed a hundred yards of cow pasture in the time it took you to read those twelve words. Built like a missile and travelled like one

Why does your love of Scottishness fail you when it comes to dogs? Shelties, like mine Toffee, are the way to go. (Yes this is cheap trick to out- "aww" you)
