Day at the museum.

One of the souvenir store locations where I work is in the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. The museum usually isn't open Mondays in winter (like libraries I guess), but was open today to catch those who were skating in the Metro Centre as they wandered downtown. I was expecting a slow day, and the sales proved it. I remarked on this to one of the curators as I was closing out . . .

" Slow day? I saw a few people in the store."
" Yeah, couple of credit cards, but our cash is only two twenty-eight."
" The front desk only made one hundred and thirty dollars. You did okay."

I realized a few minutes later that he hadn't understood: I meant $2.28.
