Chris starts work on Monday.
God, what a gorgous sentence that was to type. I might just type it again for the hell of it.
Chris starts work on Monday.
Yep, just as satisfying the second time 'round. To take a step back a wee bit - the Immigration Dept produced a small miracle this week and issued Chris with permission to work at Chrisco while his Visa was still in the wings. This was good news in itself but Chrisco only wanted him to start on the 9th - leaving Chris unemployed, broke and bored shitless for 3 weeks.
Then, another miracle of sorts today. Chrisco phoned him up and asked him to start early. Monday. Woo-fucking-hoo!! I'm ordering the expensive beers tonight!
In other news, Buck 65 was awesome even with some bass distortion going on during some songs. DJ Shadow was great but didn't blow my mind. If I pay $80 for a ticket, I really don't want to spend half the gig being told to "make some noise" by some emcee personage. I wanted a DJ set. I got a greatest hits with gaps in which we all "made some noise". The Palace, by the way, is a shit venue.
In other, other, news... inspired by Neefling I decided on a whim to book a horse riding afternoon in 'Man from Snowy River' country (around Mansfield). I am so excited! I haven't told Chris yet because I thought it would be a nice surprise for the weekend.
However, this is an exerpt from a conversation last night:
Chris: Have you ever been horse riding?
Me: Yeh, ages ago. Have you?
Chris: Never. I'm not interested. Horse riding is for girls.
Well, well - Chris will be getting in touch with his feminine side tomorrow whether he likes it or not.
