Having fun just hanging around the edges and reading other peoples stuff. One question. How do they hide the sword when they are obviously not wearing a long enough coat? Is there some innate magic that allows an immortal to mask his sword from the general population?

Glad I'm not the only one whose brain works like this, although I had John as older in order to explain why he acts like he's had military training.

This was just great, although hate to be a nitpicker, but Joe and Duncan didn't know each other when Nakatomi happened, but hey, who cares? It's still a great fic, thanks for sharing. :)

I am glad you enjoyed it. I knew that the time line didn't match up exactly but I didn't know who else Mac could be having the conversation with (Tessa?),this is why I have been reluctant to jump in before I finish my DVD viewing. In my mind John died when he jumped off the building and went through the window. (I actually wrote that scene first)

Better late than never (I could have sworn I commented on this the first time around) - but I really love this ficlet, & am so glad that someone with more writing talent than me picked up on the fact that there is no way that John M was mortal by the end of the Die Hard series!

You and I had the same thought - he was awfully unharmed by the end of those movies.

It was actually the 4th film that clinched it for me. I could hand-wave the rest of it, but I'd just had an operation on my wrist & was still bandaged & medicated up when I saw it for the first time. JM shot through his own shoulder, & shortly after, he was ambling around the carpark chatting to people!!!

I'm sorry, but if he's not on major pain meds (I'd be screaming for morphine at that point) there's no way he'd be doing anything other than laying on a stretcher trying not to breathe too hard because it hurts, damnit, & if he's on pain meds strong enough to deal with a hole through his flipping shoulder, he'd be laying on the same stretcher chattering about the pink elephants flying around the roof of the ambulance.

He's Immortal. It's the only explanation. Wonder who his teacher was/will be?

I figure Duncan will be his teacher - he seems to like a challenge.

I know he really has an extremely high threshold for pain or he's Immortal. My money is on Immortal LOL
