cyn notes:
hammering out a new song just hours before the show is a little nerve wracking but fun. always glad to get new songs out there - wouldn't want anyone to get bored of our stuff!
i was a little worried about my voice holding up, since i'm just getting over the evil bronchitis. i think it held on okay, even though i only hit 17 seconds on the big note. oh well.
the show was fantastic... i think we played pretty well, and lots of people came up front. during our brand new chick-anthem i was shocked to see a bunch of cute gals up near the front singing along! wow.
the whip & cowbell & percussion solo was a confusing riot of awesome. i'm so glad that people play along with our weirdness!
roy was frikkin on fire during parts of the set. sounded wild! and mandy was gettin all super sassy on the "what up" parts - kickass!
people were saying really nice things after our set and i got all blushy and weird. a few shots of jack straightened that right out
roy notes:
we were there, in cowboy hats, and there was beer. and my buddies pat & johnny came by. i had a good time. that's all. that's it. the new song was good.
mandy notes:
Writing AND learning a new song hours before a show? I totally don't have the skills and talent to pull that off. Fortunately our tunes aren't notable for their musical geniousness. More the opposite, really. And there's nothing like the terror of performing it live to really sear it into my brain forever.
The bouncing boob migration to the front of the stage during Cocktails was awesome. Totally threw me off the groove train, but the view from the stage was fantastic, wasn't it Roy? Oh that's right. Roy can't see any of the good stuff from where he is. Heh.
I still have Rawhide stuck in my head, particularly that line about "my liver's calculating, tequila will be waiting". I was a little worried about the safety of the audience during the enthusiastic whip crack chorus, but man that was ridiculous fun. We need more songs with whips. Are there any gothy domme tunes we should be covering?
Our songs are so raunchy we embarrassed the sound guy. WE WIN!!
