I was browsing my twitter feed when it finally happened!! I'm not sure how to explain this but here goes: Some people tweet in Russian on my feed and I read a tweet in Russian without even realizing it. I wasn't really reading anything on my feed, I was just quickly browsing/looking to see if anything exciting had happened waiting for something to pop out at me. This one tweet got stuck in my head and I went back up to read it but I couldn't find it because I was looking for an English tweet. My brain had read the Russian tweet and translated it subconsciously because I thought it had been tweeted in English. How weird is that? I have learned something! It hasn't happened since, but I'm guessing I was able to read it subconsciously because it was a simple enough phrase and I knew all the words.. but still... exciting!!!
EDIT: I've turned off IP logging, sorry folks, I didn't realize it was on and I know some people are uncomfortable with it. Must be a LJ default because I don't remember turning it on.
Family weekend was exhausting. My parents have this really butt-slow country internet connection. Seriously, they live in the middle of nowhere I'm actually surprised they could get internet out there. I speed tested their internet at 0.5 Mbps. I was able to watch the live stream of NHK Trophy from Skatebuzz without any lagging although the quality was not that good. I couldn't participate in any watch posts without stalling the live stream or check twitter when it was running. But that's okay because my bb Jeremy won silver, and I won a prize for closest guess of his FS and overall score.
We had a lot of family get togethers and I was practically comatose for all of them because I was staying up half the night watching NHK. I am that dedicated, lol. Anywho, I am now back in my own apartment in the city and I can't wait until the next grand prix event!!
