Same as it ever was...

I've been working a lot lately. 13.5 hour days, 10 hour days, 5-7 hours, all in a row. There have been several banquetes in a row and I've worked them all, and there will be more every day until the Christmas, and I work all but 2. I thankfully just got a new pair of black shoes for work because my old ones had no heel and were torn apart and therefore caused me immense pain this past week. Got a new pair of work pants as well because my other pair has a few holes now. I've been pretty tired, but the pay is pretty good, I'm making somewhere around $85-100 an hour right now.

I always thought I would be the first person in my family to get a tattoo. Go figure, I was wrong. About a month and a half ago my sister Jessy showed me her first tattoo, the word "Liebe" (meaning 'Love' in German). She had gone to some back-alley-doesn't check ID-don't show-don't tell tattooist and it ended up looking crooked and childish. She was upset and I was upset for her, partially upset at her for going to someone like that in the first place. But tonight she showed me her 'touch up', and you would never know there was a word there at all. Now it's a Lily (sp?) amidst a tribal background, with some nice color and detail. I think it's pretty cool that she got one, although I am rather upset that I wasn't the first, considering how long I've wanted them. Of course, she won't let the parents know, and I won't either, so technically it never happened to them. Still, if someday they see it on her (more than likely) then she's gunna be fuckin screwed. So at least I'm not pissing my parents off.

Actually I've made my parents pretty happy lately. I changed my major and signed up for classes for next semester, which made my mom almost scream in joy. I talked with my dad for a good half hour the other night while we both had a drink and obviously enjoyed the chat. Whenever I'm home and they're awake I make them laugh or I watch WSOP with my dad and it's really nice. Walking the dog in the cold sucks, but that comes with the territory.

Was looking at old pictures tonight, saw a bunch of me and Josh or me and Adam or all three of us and it made me really miss those days. It reminded me of when Josh liked consoles and we would sit and play games for a ridiculous amount of time. Rush, Goldeneye, GTA3, DoA3, Stuntman... we played a whole lot of games but those we played an ungodly amount of man hours. It reminded me of going to Nate's with Adam and watching their band play and joining in and chainsmoking and drinking Bud fending off Sadie. We had a thing goin there, kinda, and would have even recorded a little ditty (I dunno if I would have actually been on it) had it not been for the drummer and singer getting into a car accident. Those two memories I chose to write, but there were many others I had, so suffice to say I had a very emotional romp down memory lane that made me miss my freinds a whole lot.

Things with Rachael have been pretty good for the most part. She works more now at Kwikfill and Starbucks, and I guess she loves her new job despite it's busy atmosphere. We have a new bar, The Reunion (Inn) down Culver near Seabreeze. Very nice place that does dinner and lunch as well as supply a great venue for drinking and games of many sorts. We got to know one of the bartenders, Bill, and he's a fantastic guy who ended up buying us both a shot and doing one with us. Needless to say, we will be back each week when Bill works to get hammered with him. Good times, and they are the cheapest bar I've been to thus far. Don't have nearly as much time for sex as we used to, but I can appreciate when we do more now.

It's incredibly late and I need to sleep cuz there is another banquete tomarrow. And the next day. And the next day...

AND THE DAYS GO BY
let the water hold me...
