Jun 29, 2006 22:22

This is set after Riza returns to the Nexus with Grand (a log which I still have to clean up and post) and after warflame manages to lose Grand in a crowd near the sign, and take off with Hawkeye with him.

Mustang's silent as he waits for Hawkeye to finish up the phone call. Once he hears, Hawkeye hang up the phone, he asks "Is he bringing anything over?"

Blink. "Yes." Miniskirts. What the hell. "He said he'd be over shortly with some clothing we can borrow for the time being."

Mustang nods, glancing at her. "Is everything alright?"

"Yes." She hesitated. "I'm just not sure what he's bringing, as far as clothing goes. But it's just for a little while, anyway. Until we get something else." She really hoped that miniskirt talk was a joke.

Well. If it was, on the bright side, hopefully no one would expect her to be wearing a miniskirt, so maybe it would work for a disguise of sorts. Sort of. Hopefully.

Sigh.

"What's there to worry about the clothing?" Mustang smirks. "I'm sure you'll look fine in whatever he brings." He can't really picture Hawkeye worrying about how she looks, probably more worried about the practicality.

And a miniskirt was terribly impractical, particularly if they happened to be spotted while shopping and needed to make a run for it.

"Nothing, I suppose," she admitted as she started to straighten up the bed while waiting for the fuhrer to arrive.

It was a good thirty minutes (and one waking up player) before Fuhrer Mustang finally arrived at their hotel, carrying a small shoulder bag with some casual clothes in it. Including a knee-length skirt for Riza. Nobody could say he was such a trouble-maker that he'd force a young Riza into something shorter than that.

He reaches out to knock at the door quickly, habitually knocking in a pattern meant for his team's safehouses.

Riza glanced to the major and moved to the door, waiting until he had his gloves ready before pulling back the deadlock bolt and cautiously cracking it open to peek out.

Upon seeing who it was, she quickly opened the door wide enough for him to enter, and just as quickly shut it behind him, putting the bolt back in place. "Hello, sir. Thank you for coming."

Roy smirks as he steps into the hotel room and shakes his head quickly. "Enough with the 'Sir' comments. I don't like being called sir, except by officers that need to be knocked down a few pegs," he says, grinning. "I brought you both some clothes."

He holds out the bag to Riza and looks over at his alternate curiously.

He nods his head in greeting to the Fuhrer, before turning his attention to Hawkeye.

"Go ahead and change, Hawkeye" Mustang says as he removes his gloves.

The Fuhrer smirks and looks around. "Mind if I grab a seat for a couple of minutes?"

Riza nodded and took the bag, disappearing into the bathroom while the two alternates spoke.

Yes, I mind, you've dropped off the clothing, you can leave now.

"Go ahead" he says, trying not to let his discomfort show, as heads back to his chair and his coffee.

Fuhrer Mustang steps back and goes to take a seat. He can't help but wonder if he was ever this animated and easy to read.

"You two sound like you've had a busy time of things," he comments idly as he gets comfortable in the chair.

"That's one way of putting it" Mustang remarks as he takes a sip of his coffee.

"Another way would be to say that you've been on the run from General Grand, yes?" he asks curiously, regarding his younger alternate coolly.
