When I was nine, I took it on myself to build a scale model of the landing strip at Edwards Air Force base. This involved leveling a ten foot strip of ground in my family's backyard and, for a little extra challenge, doing it over one night, with the aid of a single flashlight. You're not mad at me, are you?

I had a great time.

Self-analysis is overrated. You have no idea how much I've wanted to slap certain heroes in the past and tell them to stop moping around and start getting things done.

In passing. I'm not going to be flattered by the comparison you're about to make, am I?

I have parents. Various extended relatives. I'm pretty short on big family issues, beyond the complications with Aunt Peggy.

God, what would Peggy think right now?

I was just pointing out that, given my occupational background, my threshold for "people who rub people the wrong way" is pretty high.
