I just had the best valentines day dinner!
Chris made a flank steak (marinated in soy sauce, salt and pepper) with a red wine reduction. I made this baked potato with a cheesy bread crumb topping as well as a caramelized fennel with pancetta salad (on spinach leaves since I forgot to buy the salad greens). And in a few moments we will be desserting on poached pears in a strawberry chardonnay sauce. And except for the cost of the red wine and flank steak it was a pretty cheap meal (with leftovers!) All told (including wine and meat) this meal cost $30-40. And it was so tasty!
My mom was right, it pays to marry a man who cooks!
