Nine

I was deciding whether I wanted to see Sherlock Holmes or Nine today.  I ended up choosing Nine, and let me tell you, it was the best decision I could have made.  I mean, I'm still going to see Sherlock Holmes, but what ever possessed me to think that I could have put someone else above Daniel Day-Lewis, I have no idea.  DDL comes first.  Always.  ( Read more... )

You don't just get a cookie. You also get a giant chocolate cupcake with extra sprinkles on top :D And balloons and confetti, here *throws confetti*, and one of those silly noise makers, and an Eric Bana. Actually, I don't have the authority to give you an Eric Bana. He doesn't like being told what to do. But I will strongly suggest he set aside some time for you ;)

Haha, I saw Sherlock Holmes today, so we chose opposite movies. XD Although I definitely need to see Nine now! Aaah so many new movies I want to see!

Hehe, how was Sherlock Holmes? Was it one giant slash-fest? :D

It was such a slash fest! XD

It was good, but not as good as I was expecting it to be. I think mostly because I built up unrealistically high expectations for it, and I usually try not to do that for this reason. Also maybe bceause I found RDJ's accent really hard to understand. LOL he hardly enuciates! I actually really liked the story though. And Jude Law was awesome as Watson. I didn't expect to love him that much in this movie, but I do.

You've got me all excited now. My Dad was all like 'it's only okay', but then he's the kind of guy who reads all the spolieriffic reviews and never goes to see anything ever, and yet will watch any sort of rubbish film on TV because at least he doesn't have to pay to watch that. But I'll trust your judgement and will hopefully convince my sister to see it because of the awesome performances.

Speaking of DDL, I saw My Left Fott the other day. I've been waiting for it to come on TV for ages! It's one of those films that they assume everyone in the UK has seen and so they never play it anymore. It's a nice film, and he's truly splendid in it - not that I expected anything less. I saw the Ballad of Jack and Rose about a month ago as well - seriously, is there any accent/part he can't do?

I mean, I've probably built it up, so now when you see it you might be disappointed. But it really is an extremely well-done movie. I was very impressed.

You know, I feel bad admitting this, but I still have not seen My Left Foot! It's just sort of hard to find around here, and I never have the time to actually go rent movie anymore...huh...maybe this is a sign I should sign back up for Netflix. Hmm....

The Ballad of Jack and Rose is beautiful. Sort of a strange movie, but very good.

There really is nothing that man can't do! It's almost scary. No. It IS scary.
