--Overall thoughts: I actually wrote something other than SPN fic this year? o_O  Like, I actually wrote STXI fic?  Wow.  I feel sort of weirdly impressed with that.

I wrote my first fanfic last June, so to have written over 20,000 words in just a year (which isn't even that much) is a huge accomplishment for me.  Fic is something I thought I'd NEVER write, and to see that list of fic I wrote just this year is both satisfying and immensely scary.  But dammit I've come a long way since that first fic.

Really this year has been about me playing around with different writing styles, and pairings, and discovering what kind of writer I really am.  Some has worked, some really hasn't, but overall it's been fun, and I'm proud of every story I've written.

--My best story of the year: Hmm.  I suppose technically speaking Some Say Love is my "best."  It's in such a different narrative style than anything I've written before, and reading back over it, although it's a short fic (more of a drabble really), it feels like the most conclusively "good" thing I've written.

(Though this is just my opinion.  Im actually extremely curious to hear what YOU all think is my best story.  *ahem*  Just saying.)

--My favorite story of this year: I'll say The Void.  And really it encompasses both 2009 and 2010, just because it took me so long to write.  It's one of the longest fics I've written, the crackiest, the weirdest, a play (ish), and it has Bruce Greenwood.  Of course it's my favorite.

*Honorable mention: Four Letter Word.  Re-reading it (just now) I sort of forgot how much I love it, and how much I still love that pairing.  Zach/Eric just feels inexplicably right to me still.  That story took a while to write, and it may not technically be the "best" writing (though I've written much worse), but I enjoy that little scene I created.

--Story of mine most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion: I think I'll have to go with Thy Kingdom Come.  That one is so very different from anything I've written, and different from what a lot of other people have written, and I suppose I was sort of disheartened by the lack of feedback I received on it not only because I might be a little bit of a comment whore.  I think I just never got a good grasp on how it was received in general.

--Most popular story: The Void.  Hands down.  And I am so crazy happy about that it's not even funny.

--Story with the single sexiest moment: Ugh.  Okay, I don't do "sexy."  Not intentionally, I guess.  I actually wrote one bit of smut (this year), but it sort of makes me cringe, so I don't count it as sexy.  But I suppose if I have to pick something it would be this passage from Hot Like Mexico:

Too soon the smoke is gone and they're left simply breathing each other's air.  Jeremy absentmindedly slips his tongue out to chase whatever smoke's left to taste and he accidentally catches Colin's lip in the process.  He immediately freezes when he realizes what he's done, holding his breath as he waits for Colin to react, to pull away, to do something.  But Colin just sighs softly and presses back with his own tongue, and Jeremy doesn't even care anymore whether this is okay, or right, or hell, if it's even what he wants, because Colin tastes like cheap tequila and smoke, and he's making soft noises into Jeremy's mouth, and all Jeremy can think about is the slick slide of their tongues making him dizzy and light-headed.

--Most "Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story:  Um.  Well, I don't know.  I didn't exactly...never, actually, come to think of it, written anything that crosses that line into "wrong" territory.  The closest I've ever come to "wrong" is...well I suppose RPF in general...but writing that selfcest, Sam/Sam felt a little bit weird.  But a good weird, and nowhere near "wrong."

--Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:  I'll say Wreckage for this.  It was the first time I threw a crap-ton of my own head!canon into a fic, and I'd say my views, on Dean at the very least, sort of formed their own little atmosphere.  I said a lot in that fic without actually spelling it out, and I'm probably the only one who would spot the bits in between the lines and make something out of them, but they're there.

--Hardest story to write/biggest dissapointment: I usually go through a period of mourning with each fic where I think it's the worst thing I've ever written.  Then I'll go back a month or so later and re-read it and find that it's really not so bad after all.  But the one that left me feeling the most unhappy with the final product is probably With a Little Help From my Friends.  I just don't do smut well.  At all.  And that one was a real bitch to write, and I'm still not happy with it.  I haven't re-read it in a while, and I'm sort of afraid to, but it still just makes me cringe when I think about it (even though some people apparently liked it).

--Favorite OC:  I've never actually written an OC before.  I've created one in my head, and mentioned him in passing in Wreckage, but other than that he's not been given a real life of his own.  But I do love Eli a lot, and I have a feeling you'll see an official appearance from him at some point in the near future.  Also his cousin, Micah.  Just sayin'.  Who both might just happen to look like this, aaaaaaaand like this (respectively) in my brain.

Just sayin'.

I'm preparing/enticing you now.

--Biggest surprise:  That apparently some people actually enjoy any of what I've written (and that I haven't been flamed in the SPN fandom...honest to God, y'all were scary when I first started writing SPN fic.  I thought for sure I'd never be able to write these characters in any manner that people approved of).

--Most unintentional telling story:  All of my stories have a little bit of me in them.  Every single one of them.  My speech patterns, point-of-view, fetishes, moods, likes and dislikes...they're all in there.

--2011 ambitions: To finish that goddamn Halloween Pinto/SPN crossover fic I started in 2009.

--Top 5 scenes from anywhere I would choose to have illustrated:

Dean, Alastair, and Cas - throne room scene in Thy Kingdom Come
