Commissioned for another painting. I suppose I shouldn't complain about the work I'm given, but portraits do get so boring after so many of them. Work is work, though, and the fee is enough to support me for a full month. Working for the royal family has its benefits. I never have to worry about becoming as poor as most of the peasants.

I cannot live on what I might make on my own merits...I have a few originals I'm nearly done with, however.

I am not really your concern, am I? I almost fear the consequences if I refused to continue with the royal portraits to focus on my own things.

Why shouldn't I? And His Majesty really isn't that bad of a guy, he's just kind of a hardass. Like me.

But fact of the matter is, it's my job to ensure the artisans Her Majesty has chosen to surround her son with are taken care of. That includes you, Kakyoin.
