Hakkai paused; he was hearing it again - a low unintelligible murmuring. The same sound he’d been hearing off and on since Gojyo had returned from the tavern. Alone.
He wondered if his roommate wasn’t drunker than he’d appeared to be.

Hakkai put the last dish away and resigned himself to finding the murmuring’s source. Gojyo was where Hakkai assumed he’d be - eyes closed, body sprawled across the couch - and indeed, he was the source of the sound. Or at least the small radio perched on his chest and tuned low enough that Gojyo could probably barely hear it, was the source.

Sensing he was being watched, Gojyo opened his eyes and gave Hakkai a drowsy smile. "Won it tonight," he said proudly, giving the radio a little shake. There was a moment of static as it tipped in his hands.

"Ah, did you now?"

"Yep." Gojyo pulled the radio close and gave it a happy kiss, nearly knocking himself on the head in the process.

Hakkai hid an amused smile behind his hand as Gojyo glowered at his new head-butting appliance.

"You should bring it with us tomorrow when we go to the temple. Goku will be most interested in it, I’m sure."

Gojyo looked mortified. "That monkey," he told Hakkai very seriously, "is not. touching. my radio."

Hakkai nodded gravely, putting his hand on Gojyo’s shoulder. "As you wish, Gojyo. But still, please do bring it with you."

Gojyo grumbled what Hakkai took to be an affirmative, or what would be an affirmative by tomorrow as Hakkai was the one packing their lunches and anything else he felt necessary. With a brief squeeze to the shoulder still resting under his hand, Hakkai made his way back to the kitchen and to one last cup of tea, the murmuring of Gojyo’s radio following him as he went.
