News and updating

,Several things. Not sure I'll remember them all, but I'm going to do my best!

Belgium was lovely, had an awesome time, bought records, ate waffles and choccies, and met up with Luna and Eric and their beautiful little Sigrid over hot chocolates in Brussels station while the snow came down in sheets outside. It was proper festive!

Middle Sister came on friday with her SO with the (in retrospect silly) idea of hitting up the Christmas markets in Bath. This was not so lovely. In fact it was hell on wheels, as every bugger in the south west had also decided it would be a good day to do the same thing. After half an hour queing to get into the car park, and another couple of hours being shoved, jostled, whacked with handbags and not able to get near enough to any of the stalls to even see what they were selling, we gave up and came home to spend the afternoon chilling out and watching rubbish christmas countdowns on TMF. Decided if we were mad enough to do the same thing in the future we would (a) go by rail, and (b) try to arrive about 8am before all the mad people descended. It wasn't an experience I fancy repeating any time soon.

But, on the plus side, "Eagle" has reached the finals of the Eppies (yay), and my short story "New Boobs" has been published in Writers Forum and won £300! I'm still waiting for the cheque, lurking round the letterbox with my eager mouth hanging open and scaring the postman ;)

Today I'm going to try and write my Christmas cards, something I haven't even thought about yet. "Miricale on 34th Street is on, so watching that and doing cards might put me back in the festive mood that got trampled underfoot in Bath yesterday.

And my mum has remembered Chris's birthday! (January 5th, EVERYONE forgets!) It's a Christmas miracle!
