Don't use religion(or anything else) as a scapegoat from reality. This is not really aimed towards the masses, since I have a particular person in mind, but if the shoe fits.... feel free to put it on and stomp around. I understand that when bad things happen, the whole "God has a plan" comforts Christians into believing(to a certain degree) that ( Read more... )

Is it okay when they use me for that instead of God? Because I knew this girl who thought I cursed her and sent demons after her anytime anything went wrong or she even got a headache. The legions of those types have since multiplied.

Seriously though, I'm with you. It's so stupid how badly people'll do anything to avoid personal responsibility, even going so far as to admit personal responsibility and then try to justify WHY it happened with religion or whatever. I had a friend once who'd blame ANYthing on something supernatural. I mean I'd get emails from her consisting of stuff like

"Omg! Last night I heard a dog bark at midnight and then a tree branch moved! I think it was an elf! Then my little brother came in and said he had a nightmare and THAT MUST HAVE BEEN A GHOST!!!! And then this morning I got a headache!!! OMG!!!"

Complements of dictionary.com

cathartic

adj 1: emotionally purging [syn: psychotherapeutic] 2: emotionally purging (of e.g. art) [syn: releasing] 3: strongly laxative [syn: evacuant, purgative] n : a purging medicine; stimulates evacuation of the bowels [syn: purgative, laxative, physic, aperient]

I was going for 1 & 2 rather than 3(& so on). ;)

And yes, I do like soft colors. They make me feel peaceful and happy--something I always welcome. :)

hmmm, you know... you said to ignore number 3 on that list of definitions, buttt... Im thinking that 3 woulda been funnier.. in a sick humor sort of way.

By the way, I would reply and post in my journal much more if I actually got my lazy butt down to the computers more often.
