My emotional state was a bit better today. I think its because I kept myself pretty busy and well..someone said a few things today that made me feel like i am either not as bad of a friend as i think I am..or I'm becoming the good friend I once was. Also tonight was good because I spent some time with some friends i havn't spent much time w/ yet

I don't think having a drink of alcohol makes you a bad person--however, I do disapprove because it's not legal for you yet--but being drunk isn't a good thing to do. When I'm in Europe, I typically have a glass of wine with dinner, and starting next year, I'll probably have a glass of wine 2 or 3 times a week with dinner.

Corey and I had a fun conversation Sunday about wearing a cross, and he told me how he gets a kick out of asking people why they wear a cross. For Christians you get that spiel about it being a symbol of their religion, but for non-Christians, they typically say something about it looking cool; he thinks that's funny because the cross was an instrument of death...it would be like someone wearing an electric chair around their neck today :)

Anyway, I think your analogy might be a little flawed. Just because someone is a "Christian" doesn't make them a good person; I've met a lot of people who call themselves Christians who are real jerks who, as someone who calls herself a Christian, I'd like to avoid at all

Yea, that was exactly what I meant.-- "Since wearing a cross does not make me a Christian, why do people think that holding (and drinking) a beer makes me not a Christian?" There have been on many occasions people who have told me that they can't believe I would ever drink because I am supposed to be a Christian, there have also been cases where people were surprised I was a Christian because of certain things they have seen me do or heard me say, which I am obviously not proud of. Theres no doubt that I have made mistakes in the past with drinking that I never want to make again but that is also part of growing in my faith for me, I think. I realize that it is against the law for me to even have one drink and that is many people's argument for why it would be wrong. I've struggled to make my decision on how i feel about this and still have not come to my conclusion. My basic reasons for not making that argument be my deciding factor against drinking is a) now, I won't quote directly but the Bible says to make judgements

Christians sin. (Everyone sins, but Christians ask forgiveness.) If you didn't sin at all, Jesus's sacrifice would have been worthless.
